I haven't participated on the MB for some time but have been a member since it first started and hope I'm still welcome here.  I have checked the MB from time to time to keep up with everyone and still check in on a private forum here.  I just haven't had a lot of time to spend on any MB for a while!!  I know everyone's kids are growing up fast and sure aren't babies any more!  I hope everyone I know here is well and hello to those I don't know yet!Just a quick update:
I am still a nurse, but no longer work at Shriners Burns Hospital in Cincinnati.  The stress was taking a toll on my health so I had to leave after 22-1/2 great years there.  I have been working as a phone triage nurse in a pediatricians' office for almost 2 years now.  The senior MD was my son's pediatrician (28 years ago!!).My dh and I will be celebrating our 30th anniversary in September and we still love traveling to Gatlinburg, though we haven't been since 2006.  With my job now, it is harder to get so much time off and Allen changed jobs last year so he hasn't been able to either.  We're hoping to go this year for our anniversary though!  I miss it!!For the first time in 10 years, I do not have any rat babies.  Our last ones died in January and we've decided to hold off getting any more for a while.  Their life spans are so short and it always hurt so much to see them get sick and then lose them.  I guess I'm getting too soft in my old age and it was just harder to handle!  I'm sure we'll get more some day, just not for a while.  I still get my furbaby fix from our ds's 2 cats, even though it's just not quite the same!!I will pop in here when I can.Deb
