Pass The Art Journal Challenge

Post by VickiR »

I watched Rachel and Jess on the ACOT You Tube live at 1 PM today.  In case you missed it, it was a fun watch and got me thinking how fun this would be to do with the DCs here on the message board.  It's been years since I did anything like this other than the box swap that Rebecca hosts.

Pass The Art Journal Challenge

Would anyone be interested?  I have several journals that we could use.  The pages would have to be flat with things like washi, stamping, inks, drawing and maybe some die cuts.  There are 16 pages in the journal and I would do the first one, mail it on to the next person and then they would do the same.  Everyone would have one page to do.  So, there would be room in one journal for 16 DCs.  And, if there are more than 15 to sign up,  I could start a second one.  The last person mails back to me.  I'm also looking for suggestions on what to do with the finished journal(s).  I'd be happy to keep it or choose a random winner to receive it.

The journal pages are 6" x 8" in size.

I will close the sign ups for this on August 31st and get the journal mailed the beginning of September.

I would love to join.  I've done this concept before that was called a Round Robin.  Very fun.

I've never really done a journal...what goes on the page? abstract art? photos? story? I think I'm interested but don't want to mess up the journal.

Really, anything you want just so it's not "lumpy" with a lot of dimension.   I have several journals with different themes.

One is REASON where every quote on a page has the word reason in it.  This is one of my favorite pages.  I used stencils, paste and some CB pieces.  I think the CB would be the max for thickness when doing a page.

This is the very first page I made for the REASON journal.

Here's another of my journals where every page is about the word BEAUTIFUL.

So, it's really about whatever you want to put on the page.  We can choose a particular word or topic if everyone wants so that we all have the same theme.  Check out the Art Journal category in the gallery for ideas.

Great!  I've done albums, but never a journal.

Lis, I was going to say this is definitely your type of project.  I will struggle a little bit, but I'm sure I'll  do OK.  Mix Media is not my thing.
