MMC - July 1 - Challenge #2
Since we are doing the "old school" scrapping theme this summer, I have a Grab 5 challenge for you!  Below, I have made a list of techniques and materials from "back in the day."  You need to use 5 of them...specifically 2 of the techniques/tools and 3 of the materials.  Create a layout, card, or other crafty item with your "Grab 5."  That's it!
Let us know what you used, and if your items are hard to see, be sure to point them out. :)

Techniques/Tools (use 2)
1.  decorative scissors
2.  punches
3.  die cuts (as in a die cutting machine, not prepackaged die cuts)
4.  heat embossing (with embossing powder)
5.  embossing (with a machine such as the Sizzix Sidekick, or by hand with a tool - does anyone still have the Fiskars embossing system...I do!)
6.  corner rounding on the photos
7.  shakers (make your own, not pre-packaged)
8.  set some eyelets (at least 5)
9.  torn paper edges (at least 2)
10.  hidden journaling spot (slots under a photo, envelope, folded with a flap, etc.)

Materials (use 3)
1. vellum
2. handmade paper (usually with embedded texture)
3. shaped brads (not round ones)
4. shaped buttons (again, not round ones)
5. wire (anybody buy those spools and the thing to twist them in cool shapes?  Just me?  lol)
6. fibers (not twine...the fuzzy, yarn-like stuff)
7. mesh (I still have several rolls of Magic Mesh, but somebody mentioned you can buy drywall mesh at the hardware!)
8. naked chipboard (you cover it and design it)
9. decorated tag (you take a plain one and decorate it yourself)
10. ephemera (actual ephemera you have saved, not prepackaged, such as ticket stubs, receipts, postage stamps, labels, etc.)

You have until midnight, Monday, July 8th to upload your creation in the gallery spot I've provided.
Must be a new creation.
CANNOT be combined with other challenges, except for inspirational challenges requiring multiple prompts, such as the Bi-Monthly and the new Team Challenge.

I have most of these old school supplies, including the spools of wire, Laura!!  LOL!  Lots of fun colors.  I actually used some on a recent LO.

Here's my old school layout! Thank you for pushing me to FINALLY scrap this older photo of a niece and nephew way before they started or finished high school!
I used : torn papers, hidden journaling, naked chipboard (painted and stamped it), made a tag from scraps and decorated it, and used some of these gorgeous fibers that don't get used enough!

Re: MMC - July 1 - Challenge #2
here's mine :)  for techniques/tools i used punches (stars) and embossing (embossing folder on the stars).  for the materials i used vellum (stars), shaped brads (candy canes) and mesh (ancient magic mesh.  had to add a photo because i didn't remember them making anything other than the standard mesh).

Re: MMC - July 1 - Challenge #2
OK here's mine.   I know it's very bizarre but. . .  I'm back and forth on how it looks, like nothing I ever did before.  so. . .  I did decorative scissors, hidden journaling, and a third - paper tearing.  Believe it or not it started with me gluing the pink banana paper to the lime green subtle pattern. . .

And there is ephemera (Got the puppet sheet of paper to put together back when I went to the exhibit in 2012), made a tag from scratch (journaling tag), fibers, the pink yarn/ball trim thats fed thru the puppet's hand in the journaling pocket.  I'm not sure I listed the same things in the gallery, but trust me, there is at least two and three of what was asked for. . . . (Be kind, lol)

Pick 2 techniques/tools
I chose rounded photo corners and punch (used my 1" circle punch)
Pick 3 materials
