*Answer* Trivia Tuesday 2-27
THE CORRECT ANSWER IS . . . KETCHUP! IN THE 1830'S, DR. JOHN COOK BENNETT, AN AMERICAN PHYSICIAN PROPOSED THAT IT COULD HELP WITH DIARRHEA, JAUNDICE, AND INDIGESTION. HE LATER SOLD THE RECIPE AS "TOMATO PILLS".
(Of course, that's not to say that mustard does not have any medicinal purposes. I'm just sharing what's in my little book of nonsense!)
Hello, Cherries!
Which popular condiment was once sold as a medicinal cure for diarrhea?

OCD is not an adjective. It is not a personality quirk. It is not synonymous with being organized. It is a complex and debilitating mental health illness that affects people of all ages and walks of life, and is defined by the presence of unwanted, intrusive thoughts and repetitive actions. I am an OCD warrior and I fight for my son.

Mustard? All I can think of is my grandma talking about mustard plasters so maybe it had more than one use?
Re: Trivia Tuesday 2-27
Well we have mayo and mustard. What about the other one. Ketchup. Gotta be one of those 3.

Re: Trivia Tuesday 2-27
I will say mustard. In the Bible there is reference to using the seed of the mustard to put out a great fire in the belly which makes it sound reasonable to help stop diarrhea.
Lol. Now to go look it up and see if I’m right or just goofy .

I give the dogs pumpkin if they have a belly problem… I wouldn’t consider that a condiment but its all I have!

I’m gonna say ketchup because 1) the others are too obvious; 2) ketchup is yummy on almost anything (I love ketchup); 3) tomatoes are a fruit? and, therefore, must be healthy? I dunno. My other answer is horseradish because grandpa ate that with everything and the constitution of a rhino.

Re: Trivia Tuesday 2-27
I first thought ketchup because that's what one thinks of when you hear "condiment". Then I referred to my History Channel, Food That Built America series (NERD lol) and remembered that ketchup was actually used for something else prior than a condiment BUT not diarrhea. I say mustard because I can't think of another condiment besides mayo and hot sauce and well, both of those seem to give people the runs sometimes lol
Doing all the crafty things.
