Here is my very first attempt at a starburst. I checked Youtube for some videos, but most everything I could find was for 12x12 layouts. So, I just sat down with my paper, pencil, and ruler and eye-balled everything. My cuts were not as precise as I tried to get them, so I had to add the ric rak between the rays. I'm pretty happy with it. If anyone has any tips for me to make this easier or more uniform should I choose to do it again in the future, I'm all ears.
I'm really only frustrated at the fact that I did cut on the lines, but they were still off. Maybe there is some sort of "allowance" I'm forgetting.
Anyway, thanks for looking at it!
OCD is not an adjective. It is not a personality quirk. It is not synonymous with being organized. It is a complex and debilitating mental health illness that affects people of all ages and walks of life, and is defined by the presence of unwanted, intrusive thoughts and repetitive actions. I am an OCD warrior and I fight for my son.
I think it looks amazing!! I love the addition of the ric-rak. Beautiful job Laura

Laura this is amazing! You did an awesome job and it doesn't look off at all!! And the ric rak is fantastic! You totally rocked it!
That is gorgeous! My hint is an art tip: Tell people you meant to do it that way (with the rickrack), because they will never know if something didn't turn out as you planned it. I tell my art students this all the time!
Laura
Yay you! This is fabulous! Stunning layout with the papers and design!

Great layout!
Regarding matching the edges: since you have covered the point ends with the photo, you really don't need to be too precise on the wedges. Do you use a paper trimmer to slice the paper or scissors? I use the Fiskars cutter with the blade that slides along the wire. All cuts are straight and should lie neatly against one another without gaps. After the patterns are arrayed as you like, glue down and flip the page over to trim where the ends overlap the sides of the base page.
Hoping these tips help future projects be stress-free.
