How did you find ACOT??

Someone mentioned this site on a cross stitching board a long time ago. About a year after I got into scrapbooking, this was the first online scrapbooking store that I placed an order from.

What technique would you like to learn?

How to use my craft knife better. I am craft knife challenged. lol!

How many photos do you usually place on a layout?

Generally 7+ photos. I scrapbook mostly double-page layouts with the occasional one-pager thrown in now and then for good measure.

I've been working on a hodge podge of events - some from last year, some more recent. Some from a decade ago.

yes. once. I prefer to scrapbook at home. Packing and unpacking for crops is too much work. lol!

Hi, everyone. I just got my second order from ACOT in the mail and noticed that there is a message board for the first time. I've been enjoying hunting for cherries (I'm more than a little obsessional about things like that! ) and reading others' answers to the questionnaire, though I decided to skip ahead and post my answers before finishing reading everyone else's or I may not get around to posting for another several days since there are 17 pages on this topic and everyone's answers are so interesting. My favorites to read are the answers to "what gives you the creeps" and the many and varied 5 o'clock beverages. So...here I go!

I was having trouble finding anyone who had them, but ACOT not only was well-stocked with what I was looking for, it also had a bunch of other designs from the line that I'd never seen before. Rock on, ACOT. Now I'm afraid I'm addicted.[/highlight][highlight=#e1ebf2]What technique would you like to learn?[/highlight]

[highlight=#e1ebf2]I would like to learn more about using distress inks. I use copics and colored pencils and twinkling H2O's but haven't really used the distress line. Definitely my animals. They are what I scrap about the most. I've been doing animal rescue and advocacy my whole adult life. I currently foster small animals (hamsters, gerbils, mice, rats, degus, chinchillas, short tailed opossums, are just a few of the species I've fostered) for Carolina Pet Rescue. I taught dog training before my health got in the way (genetic spine disease) a few years ago and I miss it so much. I still keep up with training education and of course, work with my own animals, but it's hard not to feel sad when I see a class in session at the pet supply store or the park. It was a great job and something I was even good at. But, you don't get to choose your DNA, so what can you do? I'm a writer, so at least I can write articles for pet mags and stuff.[/highlight]

[highlight=#e1ebf2]Anyway, I'm going on waaay to long, aren't I? The layout that's currently in the works is of my gigantic orange kitty, Toulouse, showing off a little scarf I put on him. I was shocked that he was so tolerant of wearing it. Maybe this will lead to some fun with kitty costume pics. [/highlight]

[highlight=#e1ebf2]I will also be working on memory albums for my dog Revco and my cat, Weezee, both lost to cancer just a couple of weeks ago. I'm still fragile about it, and miss them so much. Rev was my right hand "man". Always beside me...or in my lap...or nuzzling my arm. He was a ham for the camera, so I have tons of pics of him. Weezee was my long haired tuxedo kitty who was rescued when some drunks threw her on a roof and left her to die in 100 degree weather on, yes, a hot tin roof. My surviving pets include the aforementioned Toulouse, Violet (mackerel tabby), Walter and Jebediah (turtles), 3 degus (also known as chilean squirrels), a chinchilla named Pelt, and my dog, Usagi (rat terrier). All my animals are rescues, so they all come with great stories. [/highlight]

Animals actually carry far far fewer germs that can actually effect humans so that doesn't really set me off.) and hair that isn't connected to anyone. How did you find ACOT??
I find ACOT from watching youtube videos of people showing their scrapbook orders. A lady videos I sub to said she order from A Cherry on Top! I realize it was in the next county where I live.

What technique would you like to learn?
I guess a little bit of everything since I'm kinda of still a newbie to the scrapboook world.

How many photos do you usually place on a layout?
About 3 to 4 photos. Maybe more if I can fit it on to a layout somehow.

I'm working on mostly my heritage albums of each of my paternal and maternal families. Also a pet album of all our past and present pets we have in the family.

How did you find ACOT?? 
By searching one day for a product - have been hooked ever since but just recently have found that ACOT is more than just a shopping site.

What technique would you like to learn?
I like to learn many new ones so I am open on this one.

How many photos do you usually place on a layout?
I try to place as many photos as I can on a two page layout without it looking to busy or bad.  Sometimes if I have enough of the same topic I will do a 4 page layout or even a 6 page layout.  So it depends.  I can for sure say that very seldom do I do just one or two photos (unless it is a portrait page).  So for sure 3 photos or more.
Are you into digital or paper layouts?
I am a traditional paper layout girl.  I like the feel of the paper and embellishments and thinking process touching my hands and brain.
What page/theme are you working on right now (or did you complete most recently)?
Recently completed my daughters first year of Level 4 Gymnastics.  It was fun, different, and challenging.  She loved it.  Two more years to go to have it caught up to present day.

Yes I do, and many people refer to it as my little store.  I have a lot of stuff - I promise it all has a purpose.  My husband and I have made a deal he doesn't ask me how much I have invested in my hobby and I don't ask him how much he has invested in his hunting hobbies.  It works.

In real life I have, I don't think I have attended on online - huh that would be interesting I may have to watch for one.

How to do cool things with misting - I have mist and everytime I use it I am unhappy

I have shopped at aCOT for a long time, but never really participated in any challenges and didn't go into the message boards.   This month I have decided to become a more active member and to play along with the challenges.  Having been a DT member on other sites, I know how wonderful it is to have members who are active on the site.  So besides doing some challenges, I try to comment frequently in the gallery.
How did you find ACOT??   Can't even remember!  I have shopped here for a while!

What technique would you like to learn?   I would love to learn how to create those artistic layouts that have all sorts of techniques that add depth and beauty, like chipboard and lace and intricate flower arrangements.  When I try to do it, they just don't look right.

How many photos do you usually place on a layout?   By choice, I will make two page layouts with LOTS of photos....at least 4, but I have been known to have 16 on a two page spread!!!

Are you into digital or paper layouts?  Paper.   I like the clean look of digital, but I like working with paper and supplies, starting with a blank canvas and then putting things together until I like the look.   Plus, I am a hoarder, and I have WAY too many supplies to switch to digi.  I also don't have the patience to learn how to work with the computer for digi scrapping!

What page/theme are you working on right now (or did you complete most recently)?  I just finished a page for the Pet Challenge.

Do you have your own scrap room?  I do...I took over the smallest bedroom.  It is in serious need of a total gut and do-over, but I think it might be easier to just move and start over there!

Have you ever been to a crop, either online or in real life?   I have been to a very few crops.  Our two LSS closed last year.  I used to go every year to CKC but it has change, and is not so close to my home anymore, but I did crop there.  Last year I met a scrapper on another site and she invited me to jooin her crop group and so I went out there for a day.  It was fun!

Are you a night-owl or an early-bird?  Night owl.  I love to sleep in!

What is your favorite "It's 5 o'clock somewhere" beverage?  A margarita or some other tropical yummy!

How did you find ACOT??  Bing or Google search for online retailers

What technique would you like to learn?  Using stencils properly (I'm working on it).  Even more... using markers (shouldn't that be easier than it is - I am past grade school!!!)

How many photos do you usually place on a layout?    1-2 (more than that and I use a divided page protector with PL cards)

Are you into digital or paper layouts?   I've been paper for 15+ years.  I went digital for a little while but missed all the cutting and gluing and creative freedom I felt with paper - besides I love the smell of paper and feeling the embellishments in my hands (and having ink under my nails).

Are you a night-owl or an early-bird?  A little of both... I have to get up with kids so I scrap during the day mostly now; but I've been known to look up from a layout at 3am and decide I need to finish up for the night.

What is your favorite "It's 5 o'clock somewhere" beverage?  Coffee... french roast or new orleans roast in a.m. and "Million Dollar" in the evening.

How did you find ACOT??  I found ACOT a couple years ago while window shopping.  It's taken some time to feel like exploring, but I have decided to work toward become part of this community. 

What technique would you like to learn?  I am currently interested in using gelatos and molding paste.

How many photos do you usually place on a layout? Does a-bajillion-and-four count as a real answer?  Really, I do try to get as many on a page as possible.  I rely heavily on photo editing apps to make that happen.
