How to make your own small pics/collages?
So a few weeks ago or last month maybe I asked about how do you print small pics. And some of you said you make them into collages on a computer software program and put them on a 4x6 then print out from Walgreens like normal. So now i want to know, HOW do you do that? What program can I use? Can I do it with something I'll already have or can download - hopefully for free! - onto my computer?? Please advise! It takes FOREVER to upload via the collage option on Walgreens, and it costs more too. So i was wondering. Thanks!!

Hi Carolyn!
I don't know how they are doing that, sorry.

I do know that both CVS and Walgreens have free collage prints available til tomorrow w/code DADCOLLAGE. So maybe the free aspect would make it worth the loading wait?

Good luck!

I use Picassa on google. There are several options of types of collages you can use. So you can put 2 pics on a 4x6 or more on bigger. You can load to your computer free. Dont know about printing as i print at home but I would say you would be able to upload to walgreens ect or put on a jump drive and take them to the place and print. I have also used smilebox to edit pics, i know you can upload them there too.

If you have a word processing program on your computer, you can import images onto a page and resize them there. A bit of tinkering with columns and spacing between lines should get you what you're trying for. Good luck!

Re: How to make your own small pics/collages?
Carolyn, I use my photoshop elements (pse) software. I resize the photos to 2x3 inches and then use "photomerge" from the "new" menu and I can place them side by side and resize that to 4x6. Then I upload that 4x6 to my shutterfly account where I get my photos printed! Clear as mud? LOL! If you don't have pse then I'm not much help!

I print from Walmart, right now they have free shipping and prints (4x6) are 9 cents. Under Prints, find Collage, and then choose your size and add as many photos to it as you want. They also have a 'shuffle' button so you can see the different sizes. They print with a thicker white border though so the photos do NOT go to the edge in a collage. I like to do two photos on a 4x6 and the price is still 9 cents.

I believe there is also a program called Photosheet that is free that folks use to put more than one picture on a 4 x 6...

I also use my PhotoShop Elements program. But you could use Word or if you have Publisher, you could use it, as it will let you create the borders, columns, etc. then add your photos.

Re: How to make your own small pics/collages?
Thanks ladies! I'm going to try a couple options and see what I can find. I would like to be able to get the cheaper rate at walgreens for the 4x6 prints and not have to pay more for the collage option.

I DID see that they have a free collage thru today at Walgreens, I'm definitely gonna take advantage of that!!
