My traveling hiatus is over. Just got a call from my sister. Daddy went to the hospital last night with a fever (main symptom), after not being able to get back to bed from the bathroom. Resident support checked him out, then called for ambulance. Initial X-rays found some blood clots in his chest area. I will be driving to San Antonio this shortly.

Daddy is at home. Final diagnosis - pulmonary embolisms, compounded with infection of the blood (via E coli).
The list of medications doubled, but this set of doctors recognized that his diabetes has basically been unchecked since his cancer diagnosis in May. My mom is a bit overwhelmed to say the least. Thankfully, home-health care has also been prescribed.
We got through his evening routine tonight ok, and Mom even gave him the insulinand blood thinnerinjections on her own. Daddy said she was a trooper, and they didn't hurt.
I originally thought I might go home tomorrow night, but she has asked that I stay until Sunday.
