STEP 3:
Complete steps 1 & 2 three times. Then feed a small brad through the middle hole of your flower petals and fasten. You will have a pretty little flower that looks like this. You should have 24 layers of flower petals in all, 8 from each coffee filter. Use a small brad, color won't matter since it won't show anyway when we're done with this flower.
I am here....but can't find my coffee filters!!!! I could have sworn I had a ton left from before I got my Kuerig!
Silly me, I just made some of these for another challange that I haven't posted yet. I love these. I used an old phone book for my paper. They were my first and turned out cute I think!

Life may not be the party we hoped for but while we're here, we should dance.

STEP 4:
This is where it gets fun! Take the top layer closest to the brad and bring it up, squeezing it together over the brad.

Ok so far.

what a great idea to use a phone book. Especially the yellow ones - they are already colored!

Keep going with all layers. You may feel that you're 'ruining' your flower, but you're really not. When you're finished scrunching your flower, it will look like this:
STEP 5:
Now, starting from the bottom layer, start working your flower back down. Keep playing with it til it looks like a pretty flower.

I am keeping half of my foot in my mouth. I don't have a styrofoam ball or my favorite mist.
STEP 6:
From here you can do just about anything you want. I spritzed some of my flowers with some Maya Mist, let it dry, then hot glued them to a 4" styrofoam ball. I used about 20 little flowers on my flower ball.

Here are a few more pics of the flowers. What you can't see on the ball is the ribbon loop to hang it by. It's easy to hot glue that right into the styrofoam ball.
Adorable! No coffee filters at the moment, but I might be able to do this sometime this week!
