When you download a digi kit and unzip it do you keep the zipped file on your computer or do you delete it and just keep the unzipped files only? I'm new to digi scrapping and part of me wants to hang on to those zipped files......... just in case. lol. But I really don't need to do I?
Thanks.
Nope, I get rid of the zipped files once it's been opened/unzipped. It just takes up more space if i keep it.
I always get rid of the zipped files. But I ALWAYS back up my kits (and everything else) to two other drives.
Thank you!! That seemed like the logical thing to do, but I didn't want to get rid of them if I was going to need them later.

I delete the zip files, but backup all of my kits to my EHD. I have alot of kits so it does take up alot of space.

I keep the downloaded kits (and all my layouts and stuff) on an external hard drive (which I back up onto another EHD every so often). That way I can "do" stuff on when I am back in the US at my mom's house. But I keep all the original Zip files on our main computer - just as an extra backup.

I delete the zipped files and back up the unzipped ones, because someone once told me you run a better chance of the zipped files being corrupted and useless than the unzipped. Don't know if it is true, but that is what I do!

I have just begun to digi-scrap too, but I have no need to hold onto the zip files.
I unzip and trash!

I have learned the hard way. I have deleted things from my computer that I regret getting rid of. unless it is "trash", I file it away. It doesn't take up much room and if it is filed right it saves me so much regret.
I delete zip files because over time they can become corrput and they aren't ver stable. I keep all of my stuff on my internal HD and backup to my EHD about every 2-3 months...but I do also go through and dlete and purge old kits that I just don't think I will use anymore or they aren't my style....feels good and I never look back
