I am a bit bummed. I work in a behavior program as an assistant. It has been a horrible year this year, dangerous working conditions ect.. Things have FINALLY gotten better and I am somewhat enjoying my job. The teacher I work for is a terrible teacher. She would rather sit on her butt in front of the computer than teach the kids any cirriculum. So I planned a whole Dr. Seuss party day today. Made graphs for counting goldfish, came up with some craft ideas, reading ideas ect...The kids are so excited to come to school today! Last night my co-worker called me to tell me she wasn't coming in today because she has been sick all week and now has a fever and throwing up. So I have to take over working with her student, who is 1:1 and in a completely seperate room. So no Dr. Seuss party for me. :(He leaves at 10:45 but the whole morning is dedicated to all the plans I made. I am going to try bringing this student into the classroom and have the other students help him and see if he can at least participate a little bit. A running joke we have is the teacher should work with him today, since she will try to leave the party anyway if its going well.
Who doesn't love Dr. Seuss!!!
So Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss, today at least 6 kids I know will be wearing Cat Hats, counting 1 fish 2 fish, and possibly eating green eggs and ham! I am taking my camera so I will post a couple pics if I can (with blurred faces of my students of course)
Yes it is his birthday. He was born in Springfield, MA the next town over from me. His exhibit at the Sprinfield Museum is great. We love him here
That teacher is doing a dirty trick! But, you are a better person and rising above the pettiness. Good for you. I am proud of you and hope you have a wonderful day.
Bibi
That sucks... :( It sounds like it would have been a WONDERFUL party!
Trish ~ It's all fun and games until somebody loses an EYELET!
I love Dr Seuss
Mildred - Mom to 2 girls and a husband (I tell people that I am a single mom of 3. Ages 59, 37 and 31) lol. And a proud Grandma to Orahn (7) Sawyer (5) and Mazie (3).
It was a wonderful day, the kids enjoyed everything. As it turned out, the little 1:1 student was absent so I was able to spend the whole day with the class, doing everything we had planned. Glad its over because I am exhausted! lol
