Are you like me?
I have been looking for a new spring Easter dress every year for about the past 3 years and I have hated the slinky, stretch nylon fabrics, straight sheaths, and basically all the styles that just don't look good on a pear-shaped gal like me. Anyway, today I shopped at JCPenney's and they have almost all their spring dresses on sale 50% off! Plus, they are mostly A-line dresses with pretty florals, linen and cotton, rather than that show-every-bump-and-lump stretch jersey! I was so excited, I tried on 8 dresses and found 5 that I love, spending less than $150! Unbelievable! You might want to check it out. :-D

Plus, my favorite which I can't find a picture of online, it's a coral dress with an embossed flower print, pleated a-line skirt with a simple fitted bodice. And, I got a black cotton shrug jacket to wear with several sleeveless dresses for 1/2 price, too!

Re: Are you like me?
I shop at Younkers a lot (they're part of the Bon-Ton stores group, and are very much like JCPenneys) and have gotten SEVERAL dresses there for little or nothing ... It's my new favorite place.

The last one (which was skin tight and much more form fitting than I've ever worn, but it was adorable) was $3.26 when all was said and done. There was no WAY I would've bought it otherwise, but I did it because it was one of those "HOLY CRAP YOU FIT INTO THIS AND YOU HAVE TO GET IT!" moments. :P

I also got 3 "evening" dresses, 2 suits (one pants and one skirt), and three IZOD dress shirts for $72.

I think I inherited my Grandma's ability to be super thrifty... ;)

(It also really helps that in Minnesota you don't get taxed on clothes and shoes! :inlove:)

Re: Are you like me?
I feel for you...more often then not i leave a dressing room frustrated and close to tears. I swear it's a trial by fire sometimes. I just purged my closets the other week and took out a garbage bag of clothes...I've gained weight and was holding on to things that are not probably going to fit again any time soon. I found some shirts at Kohls that I liked so i bought them in about 5 different colors..which isn't something that i normally do. But they fit and i wasn't messing around that day.

I really like the black and white one!

So congrats on a successful shopping trip!

Re: Are you like me?
For the last 3 years, if I've ever needed a spring/easter dress, the first place I go is to JCP. They have an awesome selection, FANTASTIC prices and are classic rather than trendy.

Super stoked you found *5* dresses!!!! That's a steal! :-D They are gorgeous! I am loving the b/w one. I'd rock that one out with some strappy red sandals.

Laura, they are so pretty!!! I run to Penny's and get one, but I don't have anywhere to wear a dress. I even go to a church where everyone is in jeans.

When you love something you wear one always looks fantastic in it! I know you'll look fantastic!
