Are you a patterned paper background scrapper...
or a cardstock background scrapper?

I tend to use pp for my backgrounds most of the time. I was wondering if I would save money if I was the "cardstock" type. hmmmmmmm.

I would say 98% of mine are pp backgrounds. It just seems to add to the LO. I have used CS, and I guess if I have enough on the page, it looks ok.

I used to use cardstock more, but use very little of it anymore. I prefer the look of pattern paper. Once in a while, I'll use cardstock...but I don't think it really saves much, because I still usually use a fair amount of pattern paper. One of the hardest challenges I've done in months was to scrap without pattern paper...cardstock only! And as for saving money, the little amount I would save is not worth my happiness when I like pattern paper better.

I always start my layouts with a sheet of pp. :)

I don't know that cardstock would be cheaper -- I have a ton of pp in my stash and I buy cs as I need it, so for me, it is definitely cheaper to use more pp (nothing to buy) than cardstock (need to buy). :winkb:

Are you saying that you don't have a stash? Do you need help starting one? :-D :-D :-D

I use both, it doesn't save me any money either way, since I am addicted to paper. :-D :-D :-D

Umm... I think I do about half and half... it depends on my mood that day! I don't think either one is any cheaper than the other, though... :)

I'm a paper addict too but to conserve, a lot of times I'll use a sheet of solid cardstock and cut up my pp so I can use both sides if double sided. I use to by 2 of ever pp, so I suppose I saved a little.

I'm about half and half...I got bored with all cardstock. I don't think the price difference is enough to worry about :winkb:

I am about half and half. It just depends on what mood I am in and the pic I am scrapping.

Re: Are you a patterned paper background scrapper...
patterned paper. After all, I started scrapping back in the early 1980's when there was no patterned paper! I used to cut out gift wrapping paper and use it to get something other than the blah white or beige background. And there was no cardstock back then either! Just kid's construction paper which was NOT acid free. And if you really want to save money, go digital! Buy one texture overlay and then you can make cardstock in any color you want. (And you could probably even use a texture that comes with PSE instead of buying an overlay!) Cardstock is boooorrrrinnnngggg.... just good for matts - and then it really needs to be metallic or glittered.

I use both for sure but I tend to be a little more with the cardstock BG and patterned papers as my accents pieces. :)

I tend to use mostly cardstock, accented with patterned paper, but I hope to change that. Sometimes the patterned paper just seems like too much all over the page.

Re: Are you a patterned paper background scrapper...
I use both depending upon my pictures. Right after I choose the pictures I am using, I choose the PP and cardstock to go with them, but the background depends upon which looks best with the pictures.

I used to use PP as my background, but now I nearly always use cardstock. I use lots of different colors for my backgrounds, though, so I don't think it's too boring.
