Re: Wooden Block Class Here
I am not sure who makes the tape. I know that both Michaels and Hobby Lobby carry it. I thought acot did but I couldn't find it in the store to show you. Its roll that comes in several different width and looks red. The tape is actually clear when the backing is off. To tell you how strong it is - it is the only thing holding up the curtain around my scrapbook card table. lol

Bottle Top Embellishment:

I have a number of these in my stash and love using them in the middle of big flowers. If you don't have one but would like to try it let me know and I will mail you one. I can also PM you the site I get them from. I think its like 25 for $1.50 or something like that. You can also just use one you have from a bottle if you just want one lol.

You will need:
a bottle cap
Glossy or Matt Accents by Ranger (mine is glossy)
Image
Sewing Floss - any color you want
A 3-D pop dot
Scrap of the back of this paper
Image
A circle sticker from the bottom of this
Image
and a clean reinstone

Image

Start by cutting a 1" circle from the paper - a 1" paper punch works great if you like doing bottle caps

Stick the sticker on the paper - I placed mine off center

Place 3-D dot in the middle of the bottle cap
Image

add the reinstone to the center of the snowflake on the sticker and then place the paper on the dot pressing down to adhere.

Once that is done you want to apply the glossy accents. It doesnt take alot just enough to cover the paper and sticker. I don't cover the top of the reinstone though.

Yes, the tacky is very strong. I use it to make matching pens for my notebooks, it's the only thing I have found so far that will hold the glass beads on the pens.

Re: Wooden Block Class Here
Ok I also made a Floss card and a tag. Of course you don't have to make a tag if you have one but since I have the maker (thanks to a friend) I thought I would use it.

Here is the Floss Card using
a Floss card - these are the ones used to hold cross stitch floss (I use them to hold ribbon so I have alot laying around of them too lol)
This paper
Image the back
Red and Lime green thread
A small brown flower form this package
Image
and a tree i cut out from a sticker on here
Image
and a small brad here
Image

First cover the card in adhesive - whatever you normally use will do.
Then cut out around the card and punch the whole - you may also choose a smaller hole and place an eyelet in it

I then cut out a tree from the sticker sheet and place it alittle off the side of the card
Place a small brown flower on the other side with a little red brad.
I then wrapper some red floss around the top corner.
Image
I also used a file to distress the edges before decorating it.

The tag - this is a super easy and fast thing to do
I used the Making Memories Tag Maker - came with silver rims (you can get glitter ones now) and a template for the sizes.
Image
Use this paper
Image
and a reinstone on the center of a snowflake

I used a red eyelet for the hole setting it with the Big Bite

Any questions to this point?

Ok so at this point I will show you each finished side and tell you quickly what I did on each. Then I will show you block as a whole from a few sides and show you the start of the hybrid one - which is prints and I will embellish.

Here is side one:
Image

So here you can see the placement for 2 photos and using the floss card. I also had some ribbon slider letters floating around. Used them on some shiny ribbon. I didn't want the ho ho ho to sit together so between each set I tied a know. This is held on with the tacky tape. I decided to hang the floss card from that ribbon.
I added the one green flower in the corner were the pictures meet to add something but it will also help conceal at least one photo corner.

Side 2

I chose a larger picture for this side. Perfect for a pic with Santa :). Since the picture will take up alot of this site I went with a layered flower and larger brad in the center. From the brad I hung the tag I made. Doing this will allow me to change out the tag if in the future I decide to write on it and/or change it.

Side 3

On this side I wanted to show you the option of inking the photo edges. Choosing a brighter color (red, green or blue) versus the brown will make it pop more. Also notice that the pictures do not have to be straight. They look great rotated. I chose another layered flower with big brad at the bottom and a book plate that can be written on. I didn't use the tacky tape there so that i would be easy to take off and change if I write on it. All the flowers are on with tacky tape. I added the tied ribbon and a few reinstones for added appeal. The brads in the book plate are from the same bo bunny brad set.

Side 4
Image

I tried something TOTALLY different here that I had never done and I really like the way it turned out. I used a inkjet transparency and place the rubons on the top of the transparency. Gave them a sponged looked.
Image

You can do this side the same way without the need for the transparency - I just thought it would be neat.
I place the tree to the side and then some of the snowflakes around the top. The transparency is cut larger than the paper to cover the picture area and make the tree come off the edge of the paper.

To place it on the block I used a strip of the tacky tape and put on the transparceny, then covered it with a ribbon that is adhesive backed (this is a KI memories ribbon that I got at Joann's for $1)

I then added some reinstones in the center of a few snowflakes and the work JOY from the letters here

He was really sick. But he was fine on June 3rd. From June 4th till today it's just been a very FAST decline. He noticed a lump on his neck that day and was diagnosed with cancer a couple days later. Horribly aggressive cancer. I was really praying for a miracle. But I guess it was just his time.

Re: Wooden Block Class Here
and here is the top. My original plan for to not have a picture on the top but at the last minute I decided it needed one - at least a small one.
Image
I wanted to top to have the bottle top and also for it to have the only blue flower. I also placed the folded over ribbon under it and a smaller layered flower at the bottom. The rectangle stickers is from
Image
and is put up on the 3-D dots.

The "merry" letters are thin silver ones from Joann's Scrap Essentials line.

Now that is all the things that I have done to it. There is no wrong with these things and I have never seen a bad looking one. I know you are all creative and I can't wait to see what you have done.
