From reading these posts, it seems like it happens more than you hear about. I am going to check mine more often. I don't have my bank attached and I use a credit card that has extra coverage on it.

I didn't realize how often this happens. I have used paypal for some time and have had nothing but positive experiences. It really seems like they try to prevent stuff like this but with them being such a big target, guess it isn't always successful. After reading all of your stories, I don't know what I will do with my account.

FYI, if you do link a bank acct to your paypal acct, you can limit the daily activity/overdraft to a certain dollar amount. I also know that paypal monitors every time you log in and your location. The guy went back to December and could check things. It was amazing how detailed their monitoring system is. They also monitor suspicious activity such as if you haven't used your acct for a while and it is suddenly used.
