I used sewing on a LO! (and not stamped stitches lol)
I wanted to use white but apparently I don't have any white thread.. the blue matched the ribbon I had picked out though, and doesn't draw attention away from the photos anyhow.
I'm thinking of adding some glitter (or sparkly embossing powder) to the dragonfly wings too
Oh, and it was a lot easier then I thought it would be. Took me a few min to remember how to thread the bobbin (after I scraped the layers of dust off lol) etc, but was so easy! Easier then sewing cloth I think.
Now off to buy more bobbins and thread!

Just do it!!
I tried it on two peices of simular thickness scraps first, just to make sure it looked and worked the way I wanted (was worried about the tention/settings). I didn't want to screwup my layout.
I also used the tip I'd read someplace to use adhesive first, so that way the papers don't slip as you're sewing.
WTG - now you'll end up doing it all the time - it's so easy
I am/was a very big sewer - made EVERYTHING and was pretty good...you think I would try seeing on a layout??? Nooooo
You have inspired me your stiching is great! The layout of course adorable!
Side note....save this layout and redo with a new one when he is graduating high school or college and reading that book to them when they graduate....sigh I'm crying now...... they grow so fast.

Thanks everyone! I love how it all came out. I think the stitching made it look more finished.
Glad I have inspired you! I don't remember who it was here a while back who inspired me... someone else posted something simular a month or two ago (just not getting to it... better late then never)
And that is a good idea to do it again then. I was thinking of doing the same themed layout for my other son, when he was 6 weeks old he took his first plane ride... from NV to CA (then CA to WA, and WA to AK within the next two weeks). Since then he's been to FL and England as well...

Now you're hooked, right? You'll never stop. Remembering how to thread the bobbin is half the battle.
I keep gray in my bobbin for everything...a quilters trick...pretty much disappears no matter what color paper you're sewing on.

Your LO looks great!!! I still have yet to try sewing on mine. Have to do it by hand though, since I don't own a machine.

Thanks for the tip! I'll have to pick some up.
This LO is totally great! I love your work and your style. Embossing powder on the wings sounds like a good idea, too.

Fantastic job on the sewing! Love your layout!
I have never been good at sewing so I don't think that is something I will be using on my layouts. My DH sews though, maybe I could talk him into some day!
