Re: What did you do for V-day?

DH came home just for Valentine's Day from a job he was doing out of state.  We spent the day as a family and exchanged small (very small) gifts and cards.  Then DH and DD cooked me dinner (I am still in shock over that) and we watched Madagascar 2.   Was a very fun time for us as a family.

Hubby went to a car show in Dallas while I treated myself to a hair color and eyebrow wax.  We had our Valentine's the night before.  Went out to eat and I gave him my handmade card and he gave me a little gray elephant with chocolate candy.

I was at a scrapbooking retreat 85 miles away, but BF drove up for the afternoon, took me out to lunch, gave me a card, necklace, and a box of Hershey's chocolate covered carmel popcorn.  Couldn't have asked for a better Valentine's Day!  :inlove:

We hung around the house most of the day.  DH got me a card and a love bug stuffed animal even though we said we weren't going to do this.

Re: What did you do for V-day?
We celebrated Valentines early in the week enjoying a few days getaway to Niagara Falls.    Stayed in the lovely hotel overlooking the Falls.   Was wonderful!    Enjoyed a romantic dinner, took in a couple of live theatre shows, toured a winery, browsed around Niagara on the Lake.    Very nice!
We were back home for the actual day of Valentines and spent it quietly at home.    Hubbie bought for me a beautiful bouquet of tulips (my favorite!) and the DVD 'Nights in Rodanthe', which we enjoyed watching in the evening!

Re: What did you do for V-day?
 Day filled with different stuff.

First was the beauty shop
Second was a wedding (which I was suppose to make a dish for) didn't happen
Third Comedy show
Fourth after Comedy show dinner at what is suppose to be one of the best steak houses in town guess what it sucked.....
Fifth home and sleep.

I received a Vera Bradley purse and a plague all about marriage.

I got some truffles from a fancy chocolate store and the most beautiful, heartfelt card.

I was thrilled.

Re: What did you do for V-day?
FRiday night I was bored out of my mind......until my dh called his friend to see about going 4 wheeling on sunday. Said friend was at his beach house (in DE) and triple dog dared us to drop everything and come to the beach for the w/e. So, we did! :inlove: We had a great time, even though it was kinda cold and windy. We went out for drinks and dinner and had a great time!

Re: What did you do for V-day?
dh and i decided to go out the nite before instead.  he had to get up at 4 am yesterday to catch a flight for busisness.  knowing he had to get up early so we thought it would be better to go out a day early instead of staying out late before his morning flight.

well....friday afternoon it snowed here in so. calif!?!  strange as last week it was 80'.  we were afraid the roads would ice up (the french restaraunt is back in a small canyon w/ no plows/etc) so we put it off til saturday.  but then ALL my grown kids showed up here!?!  don't get me wrong....i love them to pieces and feel lucky they still want to hang out with mom and dad.  but, we wanted some quiet time to at least talk before he left out of town.  instead we all ended up at a great local mom and pop italian restaraunt.  food was sinfully good.  but the romance scale...not so great.  lol.  kids!

dh did give me a dozen pink roses, my fave.  and i got him the book by joe torre about his yankee years.  dh is a huge yankee fan so he has this to read on the plane and during his trip.  we sound like we are married forever i guess (well we almost have).

Re: What did you do for V-day?
Hubby and I are on a cookcrew at our local Elks, and it was our turn to cook Saturday, so we, along with our other cookcrew members, cooked a scrumptious meal of filet mignon, lobster, 2x baked, and salad, and served about 100 people.  We had a great time, and worked our tails off.

My gift was a plane ticket to Orlando in August to attend a Women's Retreat with some friends.
