Wii Fit question:
I have NO earthly idea how a Wii works, much less tha Wii Fit.

Is it something that you have to buy the regular Wii thing for, like an accessory?

I'm trying to get an idea of how much it would cost to get it. My birfday's in April. :-D

Thanks in advance.

Re: Wii Fit question:
Yes ma'am! It is an accesory.  The game and the balance board come together (got mine for the standard $90 price) and the balance board can be used with certain other games as well. I LOVE it!!

Re: Wii Fit question:
Yes, you must have the Wii in order to use the Wii fit.

Right now you can come play on mine.

With my bad knee I can't even stand without it swelling up let alone play hula hoop! :(

There ARE other games that use the board that are really more about fitness than traditional "gaming"... take a look at this site for a list of balance board games that are out or will be out soon.  They range from typical workout type games (Jillian fromt he Biggest Loser) to fun family challenge (outdoor sports) to specific sports (cheerleading, boxing, etc.)

It is sooo mean. I just love that my person is a roly poly... :(

Its fun to do the yoga and sports (bowling, tennis, hula hooping, snowboarding step, running, etc). Our family loves it. I recommend the Wii and Wii Fit. I do not think it replaces traditional exercise if you are wanting super results, but it makes "moving" fun. Tracking your progress is cool, too.

Re: Wii Fit question:
The Dr. I work with, she's all into the WII fit.  were always hearing about "ballance, and that damn board"  If you need birthcontrol for your Wii Fit - come to Urgent Care and speak with the dr. I work with.  She's awful.  So sick about hearing about it.

Oh so sorry - can't really help, I do know it's seperate.

Re: Wii Fit question:
I just bought the wii and wii fit friday.  With tax and everything it was about $363.  I've only had it a couple of days, but have used it every night.  It definitely makes '"exercising" more fun.  You can play for hours and not realize that you ware doing it.

Re: Wii Fit question:
You have to purchase the Wii which is the gaming system.  The Wii Fit is a separate purchase - it comes with the board and the game (cost for it is $89.99).  I'm not sure how much the Wii is.

Thanks Jess - awesome site!!  We got the Wii Fit last summer and have WeSki, Shaun White, Jillian's.  I'm curious about the Tetris Party game - has anyone downloaded that one?

The Wii is more fun and you can do it in any weather (if you're knee is ok, which mine isn't)

Re: Wii Fit question:
I think around here the Wii is about $250 and the Wii Fit is about $90.  Everybody loves their Wii and those who have the Wii Fit really seem to like it.  They get the kids involved and off the couch moving around.

Yeah...wasn't it just awesome how thin your Mii was until you stepped on the scale for the first time? It took away my belly shirt because apparently I'm too fat to wear it! :?

I worked out it would end up being cheaper than gym membership and I get to do it at home and have fun, so for me it was definately worth it. I try and walk every day for 1/2 hour as well :)
