I know I shouldn't moan and groan because with our funny weather it could be 70 tomorrow BUT...I slept in my sweat shirt last night and we had the furnace on too! I am afraid to see what the freeze did to all my beautiful plants. Sigh...a smidgen of pity for us Floridians...we are have thinned blood ...lol.

That's ok - you're entitled to be freezing because you're not used to the cold temps!
Jules, how long will this cold snap last!? Tomorrow we will be at 45*! That will feel like a heatwave w/ what we were just dealing with.
Christine
37 degrees is darned cold! Heck, if it gets under 50, I complain endlessly, so you feel free to complain, too!
Leslie
The citrus growers are very concerned since we are suppose to get lower temps again tonight.

Wow, that is pretty cold for Florida! Funny contrast - as I was walking into ACOT a few minutes ago I thought to myself, "Wow, it's warmer today!" Yeah, it's 28 degrees with a windchill of 21. But, compared to the crazy cold we've been having, that is pretty darn warm!
It was 32 when I woke up this morning. Poor DH, he works mostly outside at night, but they have a little indoor area with a heater. Except the heater broke, so he came home feeling very sorry for himself last night.
I feel your pain, Jules. I despise winter
Rosa sat so that Martin could walk. Martin walked so that Barack could run. Barack ran so that our children could fly.
Gee and I was thrilled that it wa 17 ABOVE zero this am.............

I'll take pit on you, but only because it really shouldn't be that cold in Florida!!!
-If it's scrappy it makes me happy!
Heh heh, thinking the same here- we're 10 above right now, pretty frost on the trees. Should be in the 20's later! Another warm day to go ride my horse! Yeeee Haaaw!SG_Becky wrote: Wow, that is pretty cold for Florida! Funny contrast - as I was walking into ACOT a few minutes ago I thought to myself, "Wow, it's warmer today!" But I suppose, if you're not used to it, LOL. Hope it warms up soon, don't wanna lose that orange crop!

I'm not saying forget what you lost
I suppose there's a purpose in pain
What we make of ourselves has a cost
And it's paid every time we take hold of the reins

Oh man Jules I feel right now! It is freezing like that at my house too!! OMG, I will be glad when it warms up. However, I refuse to turn the heat on. I MUST save electricity. Since its just my hubs and I we can bundle up if nessecary. If I had children I would turn it on, but I don't so I won't...lol Right now I have on socks, pj pants, longsleeve pj shirt, and a robe. I am quite cozy so its all good.
And i have had two giant cups of nice hot coffee this monring and that is fantastic!

I really hope that this little cold snap is just enough and not too much for our strawberries. Last year's Florida strawberry crop wasn't that great, I ended up mostly buying California strawberries. See, there are reasons why the rest of the country should be hoping for warmer days in Florida.
37 in FL is VERY COLD! Stay warm!!!! it was 68 here yesterday.... and 70 today!!! crazy I tell ya!!!

I'll give you a little sympathy since you're not used to the cold but I can't wait for 37!

Yeah, I was nearly jumping up and down this morning when I saw that it was 27 out. Snow is starting to turn to slush today. But...it will be cold again by the weekend, I guess.Queen Mum wrote: Gee and I was thrilled that it wa 17 ABOVE zero this am.............
ok....here's a little sympathy.....your body just isn't used to the low temps. I know after living away from New England for the last 6 years, I'd probably freeze if I was there this winter.
It has been so cold here that my knees are killing me. I have bad knees and the cold seems to go right through them.
