Chicken & Dumplins and some real mac n cheese that is not out of a box. Really, if it is a carb, it is comfort food!
Mine is any kind of soup! I love getting the chili from Runza - don't know why it's better than mine...
This is another favorite of mine: (taken from allrecipes.com and tweaked a little)
Slow cooker Corn Chowder

6-7 potatoes, peeled and cubed
1 onion, chopped
2 cups diced ham
2 stalks celery, chopped
1 can whole kernel corn, undrained
1 can cream corn
2 tbls margarine
salt and pepper to taste
1 can chicken broth
1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
In
a slow cooker, place the potatoes, onions, ham, celery, corn, butter,

Oh, that sounds fab! I could even make them lower-fat & cal., too!firemanswife7 wrote: ITs a toss between the 3 favs... HOMEmade chicken and dumplins- YUM! Sourcream chicken enchiladas which by the way i made yesterday. Or- lazagna. all 3 not so figure friendly.
Last night with my enchiladas I tried an easy way. I took Large can of cream of chicken and mixed it with cambells healthy select chicken tortilla soup. Perfect combo for a sauce...I just poured it over the top of the enchiladas in the pan and added cheese then baked. So easy and ymmy.

What do you consider cold in FL?JulesinParadise wrote: What is your favorite cold weather comfort food?
Mine is chili and crackers...and I just talked my honey into making a big pot for supper! And you?
Here, if it's above 20, it's warm this time of year

We are dipping down into the 50s and 60s (it is rainy and overcast) and could even get into the lower lower 40s after the sun goes down...way to cold for me. I did Missouri winters for eons and need my sunshine and tropical breezes!

I'm missing my trip to Clearwater Beach in March already.
I like making chowda (as we call it in the north east!) Corn chowder or clam chowder with homemade rolls.
Or potroast.
Turkey is good too.
Something that warms the whole kitchen and makes the house smell homey

ooo, I'm making chili for dinner tonight! But I don't think I have a food associated with cold weather...
Today in California it's 65 degrees, but the last few weeks have been very cold...so I'd have to say chili is my favorite comfort food.

Chili with crusty rolls and beef stew (which I'm making in 2 days).
A nice roast with carrots & potatoes- yummy!
Anything my husband cooks-LOL! Spaghetti tastes real good on a cold day. Chocolate tastes good anytime!

Mmmmm, I love Chili...can I come on down Jules?
I like almost any kind of soup on a cold winter's day! I made some awesome Mexican Chicken soup last week...had to alter the recipe because I ended up not having about 1/3 of the ingredients. I wish I would have written down what I did use because it was amazing!
