B12
Well I had my B12 levels checked.  I have been having problems with my thyroid and even on meds I am still worn out all the times so they checked that.  Well it was 196 and she said I should have it around 1200. So until further notice I have to give myself a shot of B12 every 3-5 days to get it up.  I am hoping that as soon as it gets up I can just take a B12 vitiman and maintain it.  Anyway else every have to do this.  I HATE needles.

Hmm...wow!  That's low!  I hope you'll be able to do the vitamin thing.  That's a lot of shots!!

I am always tired...so much so that it affects my family.  I keep telling the doctor, but he just shrugs it off.

Re: B12
Erica you need to have your Thyroid and B12 checked. One or both could be low.

Re: B12
It took an act of Congress for my doc to send me to an endocrinologist who finally checked my thyroid. I am now on meds for an underactive thryoid--but still am tired. I am a very firm believer in B-12 shots. I hate needles, but I would give myself one of those in a heartbeat.

Hope it works for you. I know what its like to always be tired.

Re: B12
I started having my voice drop and it turned out I had Hashimoto's Thyroiditis and a nodule that was bothering me. I opted to take it out instead of wait and see and they removed the right half of the thyroid. I now have had this off and on almost falling asleep feeling in my legs and I'm told I need to take Vitamin B2, B6, B12 to try and get those levels up again. Those two things - thyroid and B family of vitamins seem to be connected somehow. best to have the whole 9 yards tested! I hope you get switched over to pills soon! Christie

Re: B12
My mom and friend both have that.  I will have to tell them to have their B levels tested.

Its good to know that it helps. She said that after about the 3rd shot I will be feeling much better.

 Good luck.

I got by on just the extra vitamin pills (but I had to take something else with it)

I couldn't do the shots to me

Re: B12
I usually can get away with the vitamin but lately Ive been dragging alot and have been wondering if I should go get my levels checked.
Im not due to go until Jan. UGGGhh, I hate giving B12 to the little old ladies at work. I give you credit for giving it to yourself. I dont think I could do that.
