DH goes back on the 11th and the kids go back on the 18th. Too soon! And the closer it gets the faster our weeks go by! lol I wish it would be pushed back until after labor day but b/c of hurricanes down here (SW Florida) we have to have hurricane days worked into the calendar incase they have to miss days due to a storm.

Michigan has the same law - I think it has more to do with the places being able to keep their cheap student labor4peasinourpod wrote: Well, my kids go to school with Sue's, so Sept 2. I really think that schools should be able to start when THEY want to, not when the government WANTS them to. It is funny...it is to help the Wisconsin vacation industry. August 25 or 26 (whichever is the Monday - I'm too lazy to go and look). Next year, our district is shifting the entire school calendar so that we will start on the first Monday in AUGUST (someone was smoking crack when they made that decision).
