I thought they were bluebells, but when I looked on the internet, bluebells are something different... These are really small, this is just a close up pic.

 my landlord calls them weeds when he is getting ready to mow the lawn .. he ranks them right up there with dandelions. i think both are pretty

 Grape hyacynth (probably spelled it wrong).  They are a bulb, usually paired with tulips when planting.  They will return year after year if you leav them alone.

Grape Hyacinth, otherwise known as Muscari, are actually not Hyacinths at all.  They are members of the Lily family, and are native to the Mediterranean area and Asia Minor.   They are small plants, usually not much more than 10 inches tall, and produce blue or purple petals that are fused together and have small white tips, giving them a balloon-like or, well.....grape like appearance, and they have sort of a musky-grassy smell.  One grape hyacinth plant doesn't look like much, but in a mass planting, these small bulbs can be a total knockout.  (taken from a flower's catalog)


Love Grape Hyacinth's, hopefully this fall I will get to plant some for next spring.

 they are grape hyacinths, i love them and have them in my garden too
