Dr. Phil and his wife came to town today to kick off the Toys for Tots campaign. They hosted a huge party for over 600 local disadvantaged youth. They also spent a little time with a few who attended who weren't going to the big bash. My grandson Tyler was lucky enough to receive a ride on Tonka Truck even though he wasn't included in the big party. When his daddy asked him where it had come from he replied in his biggest two year old voice that "Dr. Phil give it me!"
The picture of the young man and the Marine is very special to me. Bobby has CP and is such a loving young man. He was thrilled to see all the Marines. I asked a couple of them if they could come over and speak to him. They did and Bobby was overjoyed. He is a hugger and the young Marine in the picture allowed Bobby to hug him and tell him he loved him. When Bobby asked him if he would see him in heaven one day the Marnie was so touched. He removed his flack jacket and asked Bobby if he would do him a favor and wear it for the rest of the day. It was one of those touching moments that will stay with me forever.
There are more pics in the gallery. I didn't get a single one of Em because she was assigned to playing games with the children away from where I was assigned. I can't wait for the show to air to see if Tyler or Em end up on the show.

Thanks, ladies. It is a great cause. If any of you get an opportunity to help out with Toys for Tots you need to do it. Besides the great work they do think of all the great looking Marines!!!

Sorry that you weren't able to get any of Em, but you did get some good shots and Bobby's story brought tears to my eyes, too. What a great way to spend the day!
WOW! As I wipe my tears away, I say, "THANK GOD WE HAVE SPECIAL FOLKS LISTENING TO OUR SPECIAL ONES"!
