I think it's just MB paranoia in general. Some of us have been to too many bad ones in the past. I do exactly the same thing. I almost hate to open them for fear of what they will say. During the crop I almost fell off of my chair when they actually said something nice and nearly fainted when it said I have cherry points or a gift certificate. I couldn't believe people here were so nice!!
