postage question

Post by sweetpeas_mom »

I'm driving myself crazy. I've tried the USPS website and I can't find a darn thing on it. If I want to send out a newsletter and just have an 8 1/2x11 sheet of paper folded in half and taped shut, is that still a regular postage stamp? If so, I'm probably better off just folding it 3 times and stuffing it in an envelope so it doesn't get shredded.

Dh's cousin does a family newsletter like that and she just uses a regular postage stamp.

Yes, that's regular postage.  And it is liable to get shredded.  Fold it in thirds, not halves.  I used to do the newsletter for the local cocker club when I was secretary.  I learned to fold it in thirds.  I had to bring in my shredded up newsletters to convice the secretary for my all breed club that thirds was better than halves.

I think I'm just going to fold them and put them in envelopes, then I won't have to worry about them getting shredded.  I just spent 2 hours setting up the newsletter in the booklet format, but I'll just change it.

I use to send out mailings when I had my scrapbooking store and it was just regular postage when I folded them into thirds.

You could buy the 8.5 x 5.5 manila envelopes to send them in so you wouldn't have to change it...but regular envelopes are probably cheaper.
