Anyone have suggestions for games for a fundraising crop? I'm hosting a fundraising crop for our school band program on the 19th. We did Bingo last year along with a raffle and layout contest. Anything new and different and fun?

Let's see--for my Fundraising crop, we did a 5 item layout challenge. I threw a bunch of my stash and donated items that I hadn't put into silent auction kits in a box. Everybody pulled five items out of it and went to town on a layout.I also did a card challenge...they just made cards.I have to tell you too, the ladies at my crop did NOT WANT to be judged for their layouts...so I just threw the names of everyone who participated in a basket and did a drawing for each contest. I tried to do a contest every few hours. You could also have a contest for the most layouts done during the crop. What I really wanted to try, but ended up not being brave enough, was a Round Robin layout...each person starts working on a layout, then after 15 minutes they pass it to the next person at their table and they work on it for 15 minutes, and then pass it on to the next...etc, until everyone at the table (or an assigned # of scrappers) have worked on it...it should be finished in about an hour, and you have the creativity of at least three different people on your layout!

Yeah, I was thinking I didn't want to do the best layout again. Thanks for the ideas. We'll have several vendors there who will be donating items for door prizes and gift bags. Should be good!

There's a game I played at a crop called, heck I don't have a clue but it was a little stuffed dog. When you finished your layout you yelled "Puppy!" This went on for a bit, and a timer would go off and when the timer went off the person could pick a prize out of a shoe box that had been donated. That was pretty fun...and funny especially if someone finished there layout and a minute later someone else would...the groans...hilarious!I would do a drawing of like...how many buttons? how many brads? etc.At one crop I did the hostess set up areas to pick best layout and it was in themes like fall, spring, summer, winter, family, pets and altered items and cards. The croppers were than given beans, one for each catagory and we voted with beans. Layout with the most would win that particular contest. That way there were multiple winners (and I think less hurt feelings).Word scramble of scrappy words. Did this at the ScrapPink crop and they used Bazzill names...it was a lot of fun.Bingo is a great idea...that's always fun.Good luck...I remember band being so expensive.Swap box...Start a box with at least the number of people attending and if someone wants to participate then they put in one of their own items to pick out one of the items already in the box. It was passed a couple of times during the crop. It was great. At one crop, I walked away with a bunch of Making Memories stuff.

Crops I used to go to at lss she would do a scavenger hunt. Type out a list of about 20 or so items that folks have to find in their stash - can do it themed if it's for a band fundraiser.  For example:Pictures of marching band in a paradeshaped brads (can be any shape, but extra point if band/music related)Zip dry glueblue, gold, and white pens (or whatever the school color is)EK Success band related embellishmentpatterned paper with the school colors on itcompleted layout with exactly four pictures on ita scrapbooking idea bookdecorative edged scissorsetc, etc. Make the list hard enough that not everyone will have everything but easy enough that you will have at least one winner.  Winner(s) would be the person (or persons) with the most items on the list.  Our local store owner used to give out about 5 prizes for this game - nothing big but scrappy related.  it was a lot of fun to do.

Wow...this is great information.  I'm in the beginning stages of planning a fundraising Crop, and I'm looking for all kinds of ideas.  I've already saved what you all have said so far, but, if anyone else has ideas, please let me know.  You can post here, or pm me.Hosting a crop is new to me...doing a fundraiser is easy, as long as I can get the main focal point across on how much the croppers are giving to the purpose of the fundraising. Thanks for sharing, and I hope I read more!Diane

The first crop Marcy and I ever went to was an overnighter and they had several catagories for givaways including: the oldest scrapper, the youngest scrapper, who traveled furthest, etc.     We won for the most generations there as Marcy was expecting her first at the time.  My gosh.....that was almost 6 years ago!!!!! They also did as MargeO suggested ...a scavenger hunt.  Good Luck to you.

okay - can someone give me an idea of HOW a fundraising crop would work?   I have a few "pet" projects at school that I would like to raise $$ for.   I am not sure we have enough scrappers in the community to make it a go....but worth looking into!

We charge $35 for a day (9-6) of scrapping. We use the cafeteria at school and will have enough space for everyone to have their own table. We have a rep from a LSS coming with some of her stock (including custom made die cuts for our school, etc.). Also have someone coming who will imprint albums on the spot as well as make & sell imprinted paper items. The following reps will be there to sell, demonstrate, provide small giveaways, door prizes and make and takes: Stampin' Up, Creative Memories and Close to My Heart. For the fun of it we also include a rep from Arbonne, Partylite Candles and Pampered Chef. Were going to have a massage therapist come but she had a conflict. She is donating 2 gift certificates though. The $35 includes access to all those folks, a terrific goodie bag, games, and a delicious lunch.Vicky is the more experienced fundraiser crop woman and I got most of my ideas from her.

I've been to crops where we played bingo.  Everyone got a card that had different things in the boxes and we checked off things as we used them.  Also, we set goals we would like to achieve before the end of the day and recieved prizes based on that.
