Chocolate Covered Cherry

Food for thought...
Was thinking today... After just coming back from a vacation to Charleston. Another Dear cherry said she lives there so I of course stalked her gallery looking for inspiration. Did not see any layouts of  places I had been to.

It got me thinking. How many layouts do I actually have about my city? I think 1-2 that's it. Yes I have restaurants and attractions but nothing else really.

When I was younger I would spend some summers in a tiny town in Ohio. I so loved it there. I barely have any pictures and I regret that. So if you moved from your home city, would you regret not documenting it by taking pictures?? Why do we take so many when we travel but not of the place we call home

Just food for thought...... I am certain this wil show  up in a future Picture Yourself Challenge..

So true, Kristin!  I moved away from where I was born and raised at the age of 22.  I have photos from school, but not really many after except when we went back to visit my parents at their home over the years.  I have a few from a Christmas village and when we rode our motorcycles back for a rally, but other than that, I really don't have any.

Re: Food for thought...
I was just thinking about this the other day.  One of the Mom and Pop restaurants here closed recently and they had a huge (at least 20 feet tall) Indian mascot outside the restaurant.  It was bought at auction and a new local place was going to display him but when they went to move him - he collapsed - and just like that, he was gone!  I wish I had a picture of him because he was definitely a local landmark and we have a lot of fond memories of eating there.  I'm sure there are other places that I would love to have pictures of - so this has me thinking about a little local field trip around town!

I look forward to it. I am sure I will be inspired by your vacay pages to hopefully get some completed of my own. I have many pictures, but the majority remain unscrapped. I hope you had a wonderful time in Charleston!

Re: Food for thought...
When my parents both went into a nursing home and we knew neither of them would be returning I went arounf the house and took a bunch of pictures. I just found them again yesterday. They bring back so many memories because they owned that house nearly 50 years. I’m so very glad I have them!

But I don’t have any pictures of the surrounding area there or of the area around our home in Florida. We were there 20 years. Makes me think I should take pictures of the area where we live now because it’s changing very quickly!
