Who has altered CDs?

I have 13 CD's that i was going to pitch, but then decided I could alter them and use them as ornaments on our birthday tree (yes, you read that correctly, we decorate a birthday tree for family birthdays). I figured I could cover them with PP and embellishments, but what's the best way to cover with the paper? What kind of adhesive? Did you just cut to size or did you cut slightly larger and sand the edges? Did you seal them when you were finished?
Any help?

I saw on etsy or an another website where a woman was making coasters covered in fabric out of old CDs!

That's a really neat idea, too! I would have never thought of that. It involves sewing though . . . I'd probably sew my fingers together.

I know the other one I saw has minimal sewing. You might be able to even use fabric glue

I use spray adhesive. If I had the big xyron, I'd use that.

Okay, this may be a stupid question, but how did everyone make holes in the CDs without cracking the disc?

I made a minialbum with CD´s, done in the Bind it All. But I can´t seem to fins any pictures on it. Something that´s really nice is to emboss directly on the CD!
