... put a ton of time into a layout and then just hated it! That's about where I'm at today. I'm trying to salvage it because it's for one of the feb challenges and I have spent alot of time on it, but I'm just not feeling it... ugh!

Yes, I have. Well, if by a ton of time, you mean more than an hour, LOL If they take me longer than that I tend to hate them anyway!
Hope you can figure out what you hate and get it back on track...or call it good and throw it in the gallery anyway!

yup - sometimes you've got to just scrap the whole thing and come back to it later
Wow, Laura, no wonder you get so many pages done, lol! I can't imagine finishing one in an hour... guess I've done at least 1 that way for a fast scrap, but it's definitely not one of my faves.
But yes, I've spent tons of time and then not been happy w/a few... gotta move on. The old saying "done is better than perfect"! Unless it's for a contest, but for 'just' a challenge (where you win by luck, not quality) I'd say move on. At least for now!

An hour Laura? Seriously??? I could NEVER EVER finish something in an hour. Hmmmm... maybe I should send you my lousy layout. You'd probably spruce it up in 5 minutes flat... LOL! No, I've literally spent the better part of the day on this thing. I had this brilliant idea to tear up paper to make a big mosiac heart. It looked much better in my head... LOL!

Oh yes, I know the feeling well. It's usually the ugly paper I''m using, or I'm trying too hard to "layer". So I start taking things off and seeing how I can simplify
Yes. That's happened to me many times.
The average layout takes me 2 - 3 hours.

OCD is not an adjective. It is not a personality quirk. It is not synonymous with being organized. It is a complex and debilitating mental health illness that affects people of all ages and walks of life, and is defined by the presence of unwanted, intrusive thoughts and repetitive actions. I am an OCD warrior and I fight for my son.
That's what usually happens to me when I try and design something on my own instead of using a sketch! I rarely ever like how my own designs come out.
yep, I also take an hour or two per layout. I also suggest to walk away and take a break from it. It usually helps me to remember something in my stash that might make it even better!:-D

I hate when things don't look like they were in my head!!
And Laura - I bet I could scrap much faster if I had your supplies - and organization....

Not every layout has to be a masterpiece. That's what I tell myself when I hate it!
I used to be a "celebrity cherry", but now I'm in re-hab...... Holy Carp!
too many times... I try not to glue anything down when possible, cause I tend to move things around a couple times before I am happy!

Yes that happens to me often actually and it so frustrating because I feel like the longer I spend on it I just like it less and less. Argh!!! Sorry that is happening to you too.
-If it's scrappy it makes me happy!
Oh yes, I have burned things, thrown LO's away it's really not pretty when that happens!
Find my books here. See the mom (crafting, cooking, organizing, and homeschooling) side of me here. {Under construction}
It happens, sometimes its best to put it aside and start fresh, maybe you can think of something later to improve it
ALL the time!! In fact, January's color challenge (cool blues, white and purples) is still sitting on my scrap desk because I just could not get into it! Totally blew my paper mojo and I haven't been back in there since!! Thank god we can be PROUDLY BI-SCRAPTUAL here!

This made me LAUGH HARD! and if my niece read it, she would be laughing hard too!!! I do have a ton of supplies...but I am horribly disorganized! Don't you remember my threads where I was looking for my doodlebug borders for weeks? If I want to use something specific on a layout, and I can't find it, I just don't do the layout then! That's why my layouts don't take long!

You have to remember Becky, I don't add near as much detail as you do...your stuff is a work of art!
