Looking for some ideas...... Updated with Pictures

Post by Indy Scrapper »

I am looking for some ideas on how to and what to use to scrap pictures from the Auburn Cord Dusenburg Museum in Indiana.  I have some die cuts of old cars, so I am good there.  I just don't really know what kind of papers to use.  Your thoughts will be welcome.  TIA.

Some heritage papers or map papers, maybe?  I don't know...I usually scrap by colors, rather than by themes.

I'd agree on the heritage papers....think they'd look good with the old cars. Did you get to go for the big show during Labor Day? We drove by going to Fort wayne and i couldn't believe how huge it was and how many cars there were!

How about DCWV Old World Stack papers if you have them?

Like Laura, I would suggest anything vintage (Rusty Pickle, Cosmo Cricket, etc...)  Usually I scrap by color & match things to my photos.  If you have dark backgrounds you could stick with dark cardstock & use the patterned paper in smaller sizes (maybe layered below the photo) to keep focus on the photos.

Can you post a few photos for us to see?  :)

Kathy I think I still have the CD.  Will go dig for it.  If not, I will scan a couple.  There are all kinds of cars there.

Jane, I have never been there during Labor Day, but have a friend that goes for the auction.  My brother has gone and he just drools. :bluelol:

How about paper with faint circles on it?  I used some (from CM) like that for when we bought DH's new car & it came out really well. I also journaled in a circle and had some tire-track type border stickers that I used.  Some vintage products have old cars on them as well.

I think I would use vintage.  I know of some digi products that would look great, if you are ready to try the dark side....

 I'd say heritage papers.

If nothing else, take some cream colored paper and destress it a bit more by crumpling it and inking.

Not sure but maybe you can even use a tea bag - would that be acid free?

Some heritage papers would be good, but personally, I would prob go with different colours of cardstock and just elaborate with the pics and embellies. Those pics are so great I wouldn't want a busy PP to distract from them! :-D

I totally agree with you Jennifer.  I worked on putting together some of the layouts today and think I am going to use just plain jane black cardstock and do some Heritage types emblishments.   I found a bunch of old car diecuts at Laser Cuts and they are on the way.

Thanks everyone for your input.  Mel.  I like what you found and will probably get a couple of those papers for the other museum we went to that has the muscle cars.
