Ginni I am so sorry you fell and got hurt! I hope you heal up soon and the pain goes away!GinniG wrote: ↑Tue Mar 25, 2025 6:03 pmHi Cherries! Late check in from me today. I was having a decent day yesterday until I went out to try and help Steve get the birds in the other coop. It was raining a bit so I walked under the deck as far as I could and forgot there’s a little bit of slope at the edge of the driveway. I stepped in that mud just right and down I went!!! OMG! At first I thought my left knee was broken because it hurt so much immediately. Steve was at the coop which is almost at the top of the driveway. We have about 3 acres here. I was about halfway through the middle. I started hollering for him and he couldn’t really hear me because a car went by just about then. I finally got his attention and he came as quickly as he could. Neither of us can run anymore! Lolol! Well then I was slipping in the mud so much I couldn’t get up even with using his feet as a a way to keep mine from sliding anymore.
Next thing I know here comes this younger man running around the cabin asking if we need help! He’s a neighbor farther down the road. Steve has met him and done a bit of work with him but I’d never met him. So they got on either side of me and helped me get up! Who knows how long it would have taken if Zach hadn’t come by!!! It was nice to finally meet him.
I was soaking wet all over my back and my knee really hurt but after leaning on a long pole and standing there for a few minutes I was able to get to the stairs and up them with no help. I got out of my wet clothes and laid down with a bag of frozen peas on my knee. It was really hurting by the time Steve hot back to me. He fixed a nice dinner and then got some cream we get from the doctor and some frankincense cream and tried to massage it for me. That helped but it was still hurting. So I took Advil and a Xanax to help me calm down and I was able to sleep. I woke up at 3:30 in pain so Steve got me a piece of bread so I could take more Advil. I slept until about 6:30 when I heard a chicken in front of the house. Went back to sleep and woke up at 10.
Steve made some breakfast and I took more Advil because it was starting to hurt again. It’s comfortable now but I’m restricted to the bed except for going to the bathroom which is just a few feet away from the bed.
I’m really bummed that I’m stuck in bed because I have a layout I want to do. There’s only a few more days in the month and I have more challenges I want to do. Hopefully in a day or two I’ll be able to get around better. I just can’t believe I fell again like dork! I’m just grateful nothing is broken!!!
Hope you’re all having a great day!!!

Thanks so much for your prayers Sharon! The birds need to be in as secure a place as we can make it because there are lots of predators around. We live in a somewhat remote place but everything around us is pure wilderness. We have weasels - mink, ermine, marten and fisher which are sometimes called a fisher cat. We also have owls, eagles and herons which will try for smaller birds and chicks. We also have wolves and black bears that rarely come to our area because they tend to avoid people. I’m not great about updating our page but on Facebook we have a page called Alaskan Jungle Chronicles that we started just before we move here in 2016. There’s stories and pictures and videos from all the way back. Hardly ever a dull moment around here!!! Lolol!

OMGoodness! Sorry you fell and slid like that. Hope the Advil helped. Take care of yourself GinniGinniG wrote: ↑Tue Mar 25, 2025 6:03 pmHi Cherries! Late check in from me today. This message board really is like home. I start my mornings when I'm not working here, too, and it is such a huge part of my life. I talk about you ladies to DH as if we have all met in person. lol Glad you are making headway on your cleaning/organizing. I spent 3 hours in my studio yesterday and it is still a mess. lolJollyHollyScraps wrote: ↑Tue Mar 25, 2025 12:31 pmHey Cherries![]()
I LOVE this part of the start of my day! I have my coffee and I check out the message boards and I REALLY do feel like I've been with you Cherries forever!![]()
The weather isn't the most favorable today but it's not as cold as it could be, and it's not raining as much as it could. (We're not flooded where I'm at, but I imagine there's still several places that are. There's more rivers and lakes and streams in KY than some people realize; I guess that goes for most places though?)
I'm enjoying my off days and even getting SOME THINGS done! LOL not everything is done BUT I got a decent start! I'm STILL managing to toss out a bit of rubbish, and I may work on my closet today but not sure yet
I'm SLOWLY clearing off living room shelves and moving things into the art room! (Things that aren't arts and crafts related are going on shelves in the living room.)
I've STILL got a long way to go, but it's exciting to be able to see EVEN the small progress! Since I'm still fighting this silly stubborn cold, (which Is ALMOST done!) I've been giving myself time to rest!![]()

I have a few phone calls to make today and will work on my art room for a bit. Therapy at 5, and I REALLY NEED to do some work on my collage!
I REALLY REALLY want to do every single challenge that's on the boards right now! While I'm a little annoyed by the chaos in my home now, I'm VERY excited to think about our art room being out together, and being able to knock out tons of projects! (And YES, I SHOULD PURGE! AND YES, I AM IN LOVE WITH ANOTHER NEW COLLECTION!!)![]()

I am getting extra hours at work again this week, too! I picked up a shift for tomorrow and I'm so grateful to have so many amazing people in my life. I mean, yes, there's times when I miss Omer VERY much, but God has shown me that I have more support than I EVEN realized!
The little things in this world make the big things, for sure!
I know we all have our ups and downs in life, and I'm so VERY grateful to share this world with you all!
Stay blessed, Dear Cherries! I hope you ALL have terrific days!

The only thing telling me it is spring here are the bulbs popping up through the ground. They give me hope that it will be here soon! Your chili sounds perfect for this weather!Laura wrote: ↑Tue Mar 25, 2025 9:53 amHey, Cherries!
We're not supposed to get out of the 30's today. Spring, you say?
I've got a pot of chili on the stove for dinner. Actually, it smells so good, I might just take some for lunch! I'll throw some cornbread in the oven later on. I've also got butter on the counter coming to room temp. I'm going to try and make a Lorna Doone copycat shortbread cookie recipe. I've never made these before, so we'll see!
Have a great day ALL!

Warmer weather always takes away my motivation to do crafting inside. I hope your surgery goes smoothly!FoxyStamping wrote: ↑Tue Mar 25, 2025 10:29 amGood morning! I like to read all your posts, but then, I don’t have so much to say. I think I have been MIA for several days. I am about burned out on creating/ crafting, since I did so much the first part of the month, I am fizzling out. I have been trying to organize my craft room so it will be decent while I am laid up. Weather today, will be 75, cloudy and maybe. the wind is not so bad for a change. I have been trying to go walking every day, and am planing to this morning, too.
I went to get my C-scan yesterday for the surgery. Was real quick and painless. Today,I begin the no supplements thing for 7 days. It is getting closer to the big day!
Have a great day, Cherries!

going to b 83 here today. Didn’t even have electric blanket turned on last night! lol. But dropping 15-20 degrees tomorrow with rain.
thinking about heading to Home Depot this week and maybe getting some pansies for the little flowerbed at the corner of the garage. Maybe getting some tomatoes plants too. I got my sunflower seeds in the mail yesterday-15 different colors-so definitely need to pull weeds and add new potting soil to the area where those will go. My hollyhocks seem to have spread significantly from their place along the fence. Lol. I’m always so enthusiastic about gardening in early spring and so tired of it by Labor Day.
have a thoroughly terrific Tuesday and share your smile
Love that poem! I want to get a head start on planting some indoor seeds this week while I am on break. Plants are getting so expensive and I did it when we were quarantined for covid, so I should be able to do it this time, too!

Good luck on your adulting and cleaning!
I was telling a few people that God sent me here for reasons! He KNEW I NEEDED these friendships! The last few years have been a little rough at times, and the friendships here have been a MAJOR blessing!
ACOT is like, a double blessing because it's a FANTASTIC store, AND EVERYONE here IS AWESOME!

He LOVED that I was participating in projects and crops and games, too! He was SO impressed by the art journal we worked on together and was JUST SO HAPPY that I made artsy craftsy friends who were good people! I think that all the support I've received has helped him rest in peace, too! He was grateful that I had found so many good people here!
(Lol while he may NOT have understood our addiction to scrappy happy things, he was DEFINITELY supportive of my shopping the sales, too! Feeling much better today. I think with the busy busy weekend I had, it finally caught up to me yesterday. I was tired, worn out, belly was a little tender. Just felt off. Didn't get a whole lot done either, but I'm okay with that. Slept better last night and already showered and had breakfast and my coffee. I'm on my laptop working at least for the morning - will see how I feel by the afternoon and if I move into my office or not.
Nothing else going on....kind of boring around here. LOL.
Hope everyone has a great day.
Oh, and I'm about to go check out that new doodlebug/bella blvd kitty cat line, too!I MAY treat myself when my taxes come back!
You ALREADY KNOW that I have NO MORE room for paper, BUT okay, as a justification, paper doesn't take up too MUCH storage!

I AM starting to feel like myself again, at LEAST most of the time now!GinniG wrote: ↑Tue Mar 25, 2025 5:29 pmJollyHollyScraps wrote: ↑Tue Mar 25, 2025 12:31 pmHey Cherries![]()

Holly, you’re starting to sound like yourself again! I’m so glad that God is blessing you! And that people are helping you too! It must feel wonderful to be doing some cleaning and moving around and purging! I think putting things in boxes to deal with later is a brilliant idea!!! Keeps them contained and out of the way until you’re ready to deal with them!
Hope you’re having a wonderful day!!!
Oh and yes, the box thing is working out! STILL taking things slow but have sooo MUCH EVERYWHERE that I CAN work on projects without dragging much out!
