 What is the purpose of the challenge - other than to use a manufacturer? To use up old stash. To buy new? To promote a particular company in the store? If we knew what the purpose was then maybe we could offer better suggestions.

I like the idea of Fancy Pants because I have a lot of their papers and would like an excuse to buy new rub-ons.

The purpose of ANY challenge is to get you scrapping. Does it mean you can use old stuff...yes, does it mean you can buy new stuff, YES!!! I think Pam just wanted to see what you all would like to see for the next one. There was no right or wrong answer (well other than multi manu's....LOL )

As for how Pam choses, I think she tries to stay main stream that way a greater number of people will have some of the product. That is jmo though from the companies I have seen her highlight.  HTH
