We got snow too but it's already looking yucky :( DH & DD have to go back to work and in-person school tomorrow so I'm hoping other people shoveled so it won't be so icy for them. Today is just an in-the-house kind of day. DD & I will be working - I have a new manuscript to get started on and she has her intense winter session math class. It was only 3 weeks so she has a ton of assignments to finish before Wednesday and then the final on Thursday.

Yesterday DH & I sat around and watched football all day and I took the Simple Stories What's Cooking card kit that I won during the NSD crop and made all 8 cards over the course of the games. When I first got the kit, my plan was to break it up for scrapping because my attitude was "Don't tell me what to do!" but then the cards are really cute and the work is done for me so I did what they told me to do  and now I have to upload them all. More points for Flasher's team LOL! There are a bunch of extra die cuts and chipboard things so I can still use for scrapping. Hopefully I can start uploading them later. I still have another couple of layouts lying around to upload too.
Always fun to do smaller craft projects while watching TV.  It's a good time to put together embellishment clusters too.

I was out snowblowing early this morning (set an alarm for 5) for a good 45 minutes with temps between 15 and 16 with a wind chill of 3 to -1.
Yesterday I learned on IG how to tie/wrap a scarf to make a hood (though my scarf was barely long enough) so my ears didn't freeze! I put a regular hat on top of it so all of my head would be covered front and back.  What I need is a hat with ear flaps.

I'm still wearing the pj's I wore to do that (with snowpants and coat on top) and I think I'll just remain grungy until I take a shower tonight. My body is too tired to care.

Oh, and I wear glasses so that is always a good time in the snow when the wind wants to blow it back in your face. Or trying to cover your nose and getting foggy glasses.  I had to give up on that and just go with the snow half blinding me.
I love that you were out snow blowing in your pjs!  (With snow pants and coat).  Reminded me of when I was in college over 60 years ago, that we would go to our 7:30 classes in our pjs with long trench coat on, so no one would know. LOL.   We lived in the dorms on campus.  Now I look back and can’t believe we did that!

I would like to learn how To do that hood with a scarf thing. :)

I can't believe it either! Considering back then you guys were just getting out of wearing gloves for dressing smart.

You need a long and wide one. Mine was too short to start at the front like the video but it still worked decent.

Good morning. Weather hasn’t changed here at all.  Cold overnight and mornings. Blue skies and sunshine afternoons.  There’s a slight chance of rain coming in by the weekend and get us out of the doldrums. Fingers crossed.

my cleaning of my craft area paid off.  I found all my waffle flower stencils and dies but was too tired by then to start my cards.  And today going up into the foothills with a couple neighbor gals so I guess tomorrow will b card making day.

stay warm and safe.
Cleaning my craft space is always full of surprises too!  I found a stamp/die set 2 weeks ago that has been missing since June of 2024.  And, it was purely accidental that I found it.  LOL!

Brrr!  My DH invested in a pair of anti fog ski goggles for big snow days when we lived south of Buffalo.  He still uses them.

Sounds useful! Especially when snow blows in your face
I suppose they all have the elastic head strap.

Hey Cherries! We got snow! It is so beautiful out with everything covered in white! The trees look amazing! I will be going outside with the girls for a bit. It is cold, 20 degrees with a feels like of 8, but it's sunny, so I"ll bundle up and we will have some fun out there. Then in to do laundry and finish the layout that I was working on yesterday. I am also going to work on closing out my Graphic Design Challenge and getting a new one up.

Have a great day Cherries!
Yay for snow!!!! I’m sure you and the dogs will have a blast! And some fun pictures to scrap too! Stay warm and enjoy creating!

We also got snow and it is also very cold.

the eagles game was super fun yesterday. We were prepared for the weather with hand warmers and I had a clear plastic poncho to keep the snow off my green clothing. It was a close exciting game and the crowd was super fun.

Hanging out this morning and then playing bridge. I really need to get in my craft room these days, I have so many projects I need to work on.
I thought about you too watching the game. My husband thought everyone there was crazy. Lolol! We enjoyed the game too! Another nail biter! Looking forward to next week when they play again. Sorry Louise but GO COMMANDERS! Lolol! I grew up in northern Virginia and have been a DC fan for over 50 years. :) Should be another fun game especially with the rivalry between them! Have fun playing bridge!

No more added snow, we still have our other, but it is 12 out!  Our low was 5 and we are supposed to get up to17!

So, as temped as I was to stay in my pjs, I got dressed in two layers.  My plan is to be in my craft room.  I am trying to finish January Junk Journal Challenge for Julie, Dear Julie on You tube.  Do any of you participate in her challenges?  Then clean my room so I can get some scrapping done.  LOL.

I still have yet to play with my goodies!  I want my room to be halfway neat before I open them up and spread them around!  I have opened the box and put them out of the way.  I have so many ACOT challenges I want to do, but just have a one track mind!  I have to post my blog, too.

Happy Monday and stay warm!

Have fun playing and being messy Sharon!!! And stay warm! Those are serious temperatures!!!

Good morning cherries.

Temps didn't drop as low as they expected so we woke up to 36 (wind chill of 27) and no rain either. Yay!! So I went on my walk knowing that I will not go on my walk tomorrow. The rain is delayed and won't hit us until about 4pm this afternoon. The temps are supposed to plummet into the 20s (with wind chills in the teens). And they are predicting ICE, so that is no bueno. I can deal with the cold and wind and rain, but I do not like the ice.

Today should be a GREAT work day for me as my client and her staff have today off for MLK Day.

Hope everyone has a great day and stays warm!
Yay for the ice holding off awhile!!! Even up here ice is the worst. I hope you have a wonderful day and are able to get everything caught up before they come back tomorrow!!!

Good afternoon Cherries.  Been kind of lazy this morning, just watching the inauguration. Whether you like him or you don't, I think the  process and tradition of it all is worth watching.

Now need to get busy and finish cleaning up this changing furniture mess. Hoping to scrap something later. Stay safe and warm Cherries that are facing the crazy cold.
I totally agree Kristin! We have a different kind of pomp and circumstance and because we’re free and can choose in a democratic system we should be proud of that.

Hope you get some scrappy time today!!!

We got 5 inches and it is sunny, so it is so pretty out but with the wind chill it is only about 9 degrees. Tomorrow we will be in the negative numbers. My craft room is a mess, and I have not been creative scrap-wise, so I am getting messy with my mixed media supplies. For some reason I need a neat desk to scrap but to art journal or play on my gelli plate, the messier the better. Go figure. I have been in a creative funk, so I decided to look up my old online classes that I never finished. I have quite a few online classes I purchased from various artists but never finished. A snow day is the perfect time to finish them and hope it gets me out of my creative funk. Have a great day everyone.

Nan, I hope playing with the mixed media and doing your classes gets you out of your funk. Snow days are perfect for staying in and playing! Enjoy!!!

Hi Cherries!

It’s chilly here but not frigid. We were supposed to get about an inch of snow last night. I just had a feeling if it snowed it would be a lot more. When I woke up very early this morning it was POURING rain! We got over 2 inches in 6 hours! It the temperature had been just 2-3 degrees lower that would have been at least 2 feet of snow!!!! So we’re very grateful for rain!

Now it’s a bit foggy and nothing is moving so the water in the lagoon is like a mirror. So beautiful! We are so blessed!

I need to do some picking up and need to walk over to the cabin and get some more scrappy things. I was going to do Step 2 of the progressive challenge and my ink doesn’t show up on my paper! So either I have to find ink that will show up or find embossing powder and hope that’s allowed. What was I thinking when I chose a black background!

Usually I do crochet or cross-stitch while watching TV but I thought it would be a good chance to spread everything out on the coffee table and put them together. I had never bought a card kit before but it really made everything come together quickly and cutely!
