Meh---her stuff has been in Michael's for what now---2 years?
If you like it, buy it.
If not, don't.

I just don't get the Martha craze. I've watched her show a couple of times and it's really rather boring. She talks in a monotone and her hair keeps falling into her face. What's with that? I usually walk straight past her stuff at Michael's. It just doesn't appeal to me.
well, thanks to everyone who responded to me about martha and michaels but i must reply to a few comments about this coupon from michaels and this is in new jersey. it tells you right on it when and if it excludes her items. i specifically spoke to 2 different managers in two different stores and i was told that this is totally marthas decision and not michaels. i have emailed martha and of course i don't get a response. i have noticed her things being sold in wallmart but i do notice they are cheaper of course. i will not bring this subject up again on the boards but i just wanted some thoughts and i wanted it to be known that i personally think it is terrible and i think she can afford to let a coupon be used on one of her items. thanks for listening.

I've only bought a few of her stickers and a punch. I have to say its a well made punch. It never sticks and it cuts everything. It was pricy but its holding up so it was worth it.

Her stuff isn't all that great and it's overpriced.

The coupons must vary by region. Down here in Texas the coupons did originally say no Martha, but then they changed and the coupons could be used on Martha. I haven't read the fine print lately - and I don't have a coupon handy now - so they could of gone back to no Martha. It is possible that the coupons are printed in more than one place and when they were allowing Martha it was a printer error. But then, the computer program in the check out register allowed them to be used on Martha, too.
I think Martha must hate Jersey. Seems to be the only explanation.
Rosa sat so that Martin could walk. Martin walked so that Barack could run. Barack ran so that our children could fly.
I'm sure that she doesn't personally make the decision to have the no-coupon policy. I'm sure it's just someone in her craft department. That lady runs an empire - I'm sure she doesn't make those kinds of decisions. Anyway, that's business, baby. All prices are set based on what customers are willing to pay, and obviously, if it were in their benefit to allow coupons, they would do it.
That being said, I don't really think her stuff is all that great anyway. BORRRRING.
But I do have respect for the woman. She's a shrewd businessperson.

I'm in the DFW area of Texas, and when her stuff first came out, the Michaels coupons excluded her items. Then slowly but surely I noticed that her stuff would go on sale and then I noticed that her items were no longer excluded from the coupon. I've also noticed 50% off coupons very regularly now, not just on the holiday weekends. I personally don't think her stuff is necessarily overpriced. I do like a lot of her things. I do like the colors she uses.

I have only bought a punch (which I like) and some Halloween clings last year. Both I liked. As for her coupons, mine are not excluded in my area.

I hardly buy without a coupon( which Micheals hasnt had in a really long time) but I dont care for the Martha stuff.
Too overpriced. Perhaps one day it will be available to use the coupon. I like Martha and I have to agree with Leslie she is a shrewd business woman.... hey where in NJ are you??

Personally I think all scrappy stuff is overpriced. I remember when I first started scrapping...the thoughts of paying $0.50+ for ONE sheet of paper made me freak. But it's an addiction and I have to feed it.
That being said, the MS supplies are pricier...but I think their marketing technique is to stand out above the crowd. Now whether or not you like the MS look isn't the point....it's just that I think they're trying to separate themselves from the cheaper scrapbook lines. I know when I started my photography business I learned that if you price yourself too low...no one respects you. Seriously...a lower price often mean lesser quality work and people take advantage of you like you wouldn't believe. If you price yourself above the norm, you may not get as much business...but the ones who do business with you will respect you and they feel like they're really getting something if they pay more. Some people are out to get a deal....others just want what they want and they want good quality. MS is trying to cater to those people.
I agree with whoever it was that said that MS probably has no say in what goes on with her products in M's. Do you realize how many people work for the MS company?? I don't agree with everythin MS does....but I do think she is a kick-donkey business woman!
As far as the coupon goes...that stinks if it's a NJ thing. Totally weird.

I have only bought a few things from her line, like her bags for cookies and cupcake boxes I got on clearance. I bought a few of her punches with a coupon and they are pretty good. We are allowed to use coupons now on the martha stuff, weren't allowed in the beginning.
