My Dear Husband promised me forever...
On January 23 we had been married for 39 1/2 years. That is how long forever lasts. He passed away at age 60 on January 24, 2013 and I still miss him every day. I treasure the lifetime of memories we shared, both good and bad...I couldn't put him in the ground. I have his ashes on the fireplace mantelpiece in a bronze book-shaped urn.

End of June, we have been married 47 years and knew one another for 4 years before that. Sounds so awe inspiring that it has been half a centure since I first saw that awesome smile that still makes my heart beat fast upon occasion. lol
Anyhow, just curious and have points to sprinkle, so . . . . . . . . . . . :greeninlove:

Wow, how wonderful!

DH and I first met when we were 14. We were each others first kiss. We dated for a year and his parents moved the family away to own a resort. Well for two 14 year olds (actually 15 now) 75 miles was too far away. We wrote to one another for awhile but his mom thought we were too young to be so serious. So without either of us knowing she intercepted my letters and he thought I had quit writing to him. Well then of course he stopped writing to me. We lost contact for 8 year because of this. So when he was getting ready to move back to the Cities, he noticed my phone number tapped to the bottom of his desk drawer. He called me, we met and dated for 4 years. This June we will be celebrating our 22nd year of marriage. He counts the year we were kids, so he will tell you we have been together for 27 years :inlove:

In 3 short weeks my hubs and I will celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary, and we were dating 4.5 years before that. We've known each other since our senior year in high school (we went to different schools tho).

sorry for your loss my dear but cherish the 39 1/2 years. And as to keeping him on the mantel, makes it easier to still talk with him. hugs
