These are always a HUGE hit with kids and adults.

CHICKEN BACON APPETIZERS

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Cut chicken breasts into 1-inch cubes.
  3. Cut each bacon slice into thirds. Wrap each chicken cube with bacon and secure with a wooden pick inserted on the diagonal starting where bacon seam overlaps.
  4. Stir together brown sugar and chili powder. Dredge wrapped chicken in mixture.
  5. Coat a rack and broiler pan with non-stick cooking spray. Place chicken on rack in broiler pan.
  6. Bake at 350°F for 30 to 35 minutes, or until bacon is crisp.

Easy and yummy!!

Of course, another love that I can't wait to do when it gets colder here, CHILI!!!!

off topic maybe.. but a tip for all that I tried and it works GREAT...

Take that crock pot that we ALL love, fill it up with ground beef (5 lbs or so depending on size), put that baby on high, stir on and off for about 4 hours... Let cool, package up in containers, baggies 1, 2 lbs at time and then time you want to make chili, tacos, etc... Pull it out to defrost, throw it all together, FAST meals....

I like meatballs. The bag of meatballs premade from SAMS club works great. Here's a fave from cooks.com

2 12 oz jars Heinz chili sauce
1 32 oz jar grape jelly
1 bag meatballs (about 80 in a bag)

Put chili sauce and jelly in a large pot, heat until jelly is melted and sauce is smooth, stirring often. Add frozen meatballs; heat until meatballs are thawed and then simmer for 3 hours.

I did a Pampered Chef party this spring and the rep did a fun one!

Taco Ring
Need 2 cans crescent dough
1lb hbgr meat
taco seasoning
lettuce and other taco-like veggies and toppings... tomato, peppers, olives, sour cream, cheese, guacamole, etc

Fry the hamburger meat and season for tacos as you normally would.

On a flat cookie sheet or stone, lay the first can of crescent dough triangles out flat. You will lay them in a circle around the edge. The triangles have one short side and two very long ones. The short side goes in towards the center of the pan, and the next one goes right next to it so it ends up looking something like this: (edited because it took all my spaces out! please ignore all the dots.....!)

/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\
<....................>
<....................>
<....................>
<....................>
\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/

Then take the second can and do the same thing, only this time you will be layering it on top of the others you've already placed, and in-between so that it's tiered. So, the peaks of the second can's top layer of triangles will be halfway between the peaks of the bottom layer's triangles.

Then you're going to spoon the taco meat onto the dough near the flat ends, and pull the points over the top of it, similar to what you'd do if you were wrapping a sausage in the crescent triangle. Smoosh the triangle peak into the crescent dough base. Bake in the oven per crescent package directions, usually 350 for 10 minutes or so.

When it's finished baking, create a bed of lettuce in the center of the circle. Then place all your other veggies and toppings on top of that. Guests cut a slice of taco ring and grab some of whichever toppings they like, and eat with a fork. Yummy! And much easier than it sounds. ;)
