touchalife wrote:what makes you decide when to distress and when not to

Honestly, when I decide to distress a page, I pretty much distress everything I can on the page. I don't think it looks right with some of the papers distressed and others not. The point is to get a LO that looks worn or aged and if some of your papers are aged and some aren't, it doesn't have the same effect.

I usually don't use paper tearing on every piece. I tend to tear one piece on the page for impact. It is a personal preference though and if you like the look of all of your papers torn, go for it. There are no rights or wrongs with scrapbooking.

I think somewhere along the lines, I decide that I want to make a distressed page. Sometimes I look at a photo or certain products and think those would be good for a distressed page. I guess I either feel it or I don't when I start my LO.

Hope that answers your question. :-D

You need to take a photo or scan your page. At the top of the screen are 7 tabs. Click on the one marked community and a list will come down. Choose gallery. When the gallery page opens, you want the category current contests and challenges in the middle of the screen. Click on the Distressing Class Gallery. At the top right hand side of the screen is a choice to submit to the gallery. A form will pop up and you enter the info requested.

If you are uploading a page to another challenge or FS, click on the name of that particular FS or challenge under the same Current Contests and Challenges. If it is a general creation, you would click on the correct category when you open the gallery- layout gallery, digital gallery, photo gallery, crafts gallery, etc.

I am still learning stuff on the boards after being on the CT for almost 2 years. :winkb:
