ACOT Message Board

 Hi chicas! Class is going to start in just a minute. I  want to give you a heads up before we start, that because of the printing and mod podge drying times, this is not something you will be able to sit and finish with me tonight.

I am going to go through the class step by step so if you have any questions, you can ask me. If you get stuck while finishing this over the next day or so, please feel free to PM me, ok? This will be available as a tutorial after the crop.

 Welcome to the Hybrid Christmas Mini Album Class! Today we’re going to be combining our digital work with traditional paper scrapping to make a cute, fun mini album you can keep for yourself or give away as a gift. Let’s get started!

You should have already downloaded the Digi Doable Class Template and unzipped it, so now let’s go to Photoshop/Elements and create our base pages. Please be sure you have also familiarized yourself with the basics of using a template by reading Digi Templates 101. The instructions I'll be giving are for Photoshop Elements, but will translate to other digi programs.

Open up your Template Shape & Border file and you will see you have two layers. One is for the base page. This is already sized and shaped to fit the Abby Albums by Cosmo Cricket. The second layer is the border and is completely optional. If you choose not to use it, you can either make that layer invisible or discard it entirely.

 Next let’s open up the paper we’d like to use for our cover. I’ve chosen papers from Designs by Shelle’s Funky Christmas kit. Tile your windows by clicking the second icon in the top right of the workspace screen. Then drag and drop your paper onto the template.




Go ahead and close that paper now so only our template is open. As you can see, the paper will need to be resized a bit. Click on the layer with your paper and then click on a corner of the bounding box and drag towards the center to make that smaller. Once you’re happy with it, click the green check mark to accept. If you need to move your paper (which I do) click on the thumbnail in the layer palette to move it into position. Your paper should be in the layer directly above the template shape.

 I'm just watching - BUT, why does Flaps get to be front and center????? She's too tall and I can't see over her!
