I have a ton of frames I've bought and never used yet. This would be a great idea for some of them.

With the paint to you want to go in the same direction as the wood or does it matter?

Oooh... good tip- thanks!

You are using the Tim Holz crackle paint Diana? Are you using a white or light color? Did it work well for you?

Step 5: Allow your frame to dry for at least one hour. As it dries, you will see the cracks starting to show up. Wasn’t that EASY?

Seriously, that was all there was to it!

When the frame is completely dry, you can add the glass, mat, and a photo back to the frame. I also added a Prima flower and a nylon butterfly to the front of my frame, using hot glue.

Other "dress it up ideas" include:buttons, bling, monogram letters, chipboard shapes, crocheted flowers...etc! Or you might decide to hang it from a pretty velvet ribbon,;ace, or string!

The frame came out great and you made it seem so easy.  Need to get some of that crackled paint.  Have tons of frames here I could use it on.

I used the Tim Holtz paint in a very light pink shade called Tattered Rose. It was SUPER easy to work with, no problems at all. And it's not sticky or anything funky like that. ;)

How to mod podge paper to a frame Step 1: Remove any glass, backing, and mats from your frame so that you are left with JUST a plain frame. Step 2: Lie your frame face down onto the reverse side of the paper you want to use.

So what you see here is the BACK side to both my paper and my frame.
