Question - can you do this without photoshop elements?  Or is that a free download??

The template is a free download. It is available in PNG format (right in the zip file) for use in other digital programs. :)

Can you spell that out a little more for us virgins??

Re: ~~~Hybrid Christmas Mini Album Class in Here~~~
You are now ready to add your photos and any digital embellishments you wish. The amount of your page that will be digital is completely up to you. Just be sure to leave room on your pages for the traditional supplies we will be adding later. For this project, I chose to use only my photos and the journaling as the digital base for my pages. Save each of your pages as a separate file in PSD format (or whatever file format your digital program uses).

Be sure to flip the template vertically for your top pages before you start designing them. (Pages 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9 should all be
flipped)

Re: ~~~Hybrid Christmas Mini Album Class in Here~~~
Well, PSD format is for Photoshop (or elements) only. If you are using Print Shop Pro or GIMP you should be able to use the PNG files as your template.

I'm sorry I can't give you step by step instructions on that though. I don't know how those programs work. Sara will be having a GIMP class this weekend though if you want to check it out. GIMP is a FREE program you can use for digital scrapbooking.

ETA: PSD & PNG are file types. (Like jpg)

Thank you for the template. I also love that their is a border. I am very new to the whole digital thing. I am loving it, but I know I will never be able to give up paper scrapping! This is a great project.

That's the great thing about hybrid. You get the best of both worlds. :)

Re: ~~~Hybrid Christmas Mini Album Class in Here~~~
We're almost done with the digi portion of this class ladies. Just a few more steps. ;)

Once you have completed the digital layout for each of the pages in your album, the next step is to get them ready for printing.

Create a New Blank File using the following settings:

Image

Now open up the cover pages (both front & rear). You will have three files open in your project bin. The new blank file, your front cover, and your rear cover.

Click on your front cover in the Project Bin so it is the active project. We will now flatten our image. You have two choices here. You can right click on any layer(except text) in the palette bin and choose MERGE VISIBLE or you can go to LAYER>MERGE VISIBLE.
