Layouts of the Week: Jan 20-26

I am very excited to be choosing projects of the week for the first time, but, - boy - was this hard! There were so many beautiful, clever, innovative and/or eye-catching projects from which to choose. After lots and lots of going back and forth, here are my picks:
TRADITIONAL LAYOUT: Smile Often by Nellie Pickles
Love the bright colors and sprinkling of embellishments. I also appreciate the journaling that's on the page; I often forget to tell the story on my layouts.
Honorable Mention: On Her Wish List by MTCanuk
Another layout that my eyes kept gravitating toward - hexagons intimidate me (don't know why). I love the paper choices, the way the hexagon pattern paper was used, and the composition.
DIGI LAYOUT: Snowboarding by pizazz
I've been collecting digi elements for years (remember Two Peas?), but never actually created a layout! I love how the little boy blends into the scene.
CARD: Meow-licious by SapphireHandcrafted
This card sings to me from the stenciled paw print background to the cute kitty images. I also really like how the tags stand out against the kraft base. Plus it combines my love of cats and food.
Honorable Mention: 2025 Birthday Card 1 by Shoorn
I liked Susan's take on the sketch by using diamonds - and such pretty patterned paper.
ART JOURNAL: When by karen_c.
This touches all of my senses - it's beautiful to look at, I can almost smell the ocean air, I can hear the waves crashing on the shore, and feel the sand under my toes. And since I'm eating chips, I can taste salt.
Honorable Mention: Art Journal by SandyK1967
Despite my discomfort of hexagons, here's another project that involves them but is oh-so-beautiful. It's a creative take on the weekly sketch challenge and I can't take my eyes off of the left page.
PHOTOGRAPH: Spring on a Winter Day by Art_Teacher
With all the snow and heat many of us have (or are still) experiencing, this photo is a reminder that Spring is (sort of) around the corner!
Honorable Mention: Funny by Karyn_Sue
Kinda says it all.
OTHER: Mini Album What One Loves by Bev H
Bev has been busy making mini albums with Graphic 45 collections. This one is my favorite! The Elegance collection is one of my most-hoarded scrapping possessions (there are, sadly, many that fall in this category but I digress) AND she created this so exquisitely.
Honorable Mention: Hello Winter Pocket Pages by SuzLee72
I've always wanted to do pocket pages and have all the pockets...and pages...but need more inspo. This project has me thinking I can do it! It's beautifully composed and combines my love of mixed media and interactive components. (Plus Suzanna's YT videos are easy to follow and fun to watch.)
