SuperStar Layouts of the Week 9/22

Happy First Day of Autumn everyone!! To celebrate, I made it my mission to admire all the fabulous Fall layouts in the gallery. I'm here to share my two favorite layouts of the week, I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
First, from the digital gallery, I chose Autumn... it's good for the soul by Julie Mead, one of our own digital designers.
--I love to see our designers create layouts using their own products. This layout by Julie shows just how stunning a simple design can be. With only two distressed solid papers, some beautifully colored brushwork, a handful of gracefully falling leaves and a brilliantly extracted photo, she has pulled together an absolutely perfect layout! I've saved this layout for so many different techniques that I intend to apply to my own layouts in the near future, thank you Julie for the inspiration.
And from the paper gallery, I chose Grrr! by scrappininAK
--I'm all about the cool & clever techniques lately, as you can probably see. With Halloween coming up, I have no doubt some of you have already planned the perfect coordinating products to match what your little monster will be wearing this year. Well I'm loving how Heather has gone with a few simple elements to really play up her photos without overwhelming them. The black mats help the photos boldly stand off the page while the daintily scalloped striped paper and uber-cool 'bubble wrap' painted dots give some fun texture to the design. I think Heather is gonna start a new trend here with pompoms, I am just smitten with those fluffy little poofs. (check out her Halloween cards some some more really neat design ideas!)
