Phoebe and Matt have been married for ten years and have fallen into a comfortable – some would even say mundane – existence. When Phoebe miscarries, thus effectively ending their last chance at having a child, things unravel quickly. Matt has an affair and moves out, while Phoebe loses all interest in her job as a professor and decides to leave it without looking back. Since her life as she knows it is essentially over, Phoebe decides to make it official. She checks into a beautiful seaside resort where she and Matt had always dreamed of vacationing, with the intention of killing herself. What she does not count on, however, are the wedding people.
Lila and Gary are soon to be wed, and Lila has spared no expense – quite literally – in her effort to have the most extravagant week-long wedding celebration possible. She has rented out the entire resort exclusively for her wedding, yet somehow Phoebe secures a room even though she is not one of the wedding people. When the two women strike up a conversation, and Lila learns of Phoebe’s plan to commit suicide, she positively will NOT let it happen, as that would ruin her wedding! Thus begins a series of events in which Lila forces Phoebe to become one of the wedding people and, in turn, Phoebe learns that she has a lot more to live for than she thought.
OPTION 1: THE WEDDING PEOPLE
We can’t read a book called The Wedding People without having a challenge involving a wedding! Quite simply, for this one, make a page about a wedding. It can be your own wedding, one you attended, or one you wish you had attended, but there must be photos from the wedding featured on the page.
OPTION 2: WHAT’S IN A NAME?
In the book, Lila’s fiancé, Gary, has a child from a previous marriage whose name is Mel. However, for reasons that eventually get explained, Mel insists on being called Juice. So, for Option 2, make a page about someone’s unique nickname. It can be a family member, friend, or even a pet (I KNOW I’m not the only one who calls my pets by anything other than their actual names!). Include photos of the person, or animal, in question, and write some journaling to tell the story of the nickname.

Option 2: A page about why my younger daughter (and most of the family now, too) call my older daughter "Yoshi"
