MMC - July 1 - Challenge #2
Posted: Mon Jul 01, 2024 11:00 am
Since we are doing the "old school" scrapping theme this summer, I have a Grab 5 challenge for you! Below, I have made a list of techniques and materials from "back in the day." You need to use 5 of them...specifically 2 of the techniques/tools and 3 of the materials. Create a layout, card, or other crafty item with your "Grab 5." That's it!
Let us know what you used, and if your items are hard to see, be sure to point them out.
Techniques/Tools (use 2)
1. decorative scissors
2. punches
3. die cuts (as in a die cutting machine, not prepackaged die cuts)
4. heat embossing (with embossing powder)
5. embossing (with a machine such as the Sizzix Sidekick, or by hand with a tool - does anyone still have the Fiskars embossing system...I do!)
6. corner rounding on the photos
7. shakers (make your own, not pre-packaged)
8. set some eyelets (at least 5)
9. torn paper edges (at least 2)
10. hidden journaling spot (slots under a photo, envelope, folded with a flap, etc.)
Materials (use 3)
1. vellum
2. handmade paper (usually with embedded texture)
3. shaped brads (not round ones)
4. shaped buttons (again, not round ones)
5. wire (anybody buy those spools and the thing to twist them in cool shapes? Just me? lol)
6. fibers (not twine...the fuzzy, yarn-like stuff)
7. mesh (I still have several rolls of Magic Mesh, but somebody mentioned you can buy drywall mesh at the hardware!)
8. naked chipboard (you cover it and design it)
9. decorated tag (you take a plain one and decorate it yourself)
10. ephemera (actual ephemera you have saved, not prepackaged, such as ticket stubs, receipts, postage stamps, labels, etc.)
You have until midnight, Monday, July 8th to upload your creation in the gallery spot I've provided.
Must be a new creation.
CANNOT be combined with other challenges, except for inspirational challenges requiring multiple prompts, such as the Bi-Monthly and the new Team Challenge.
Let us know what you used, and if your items are hard to see, be sure to point them out.
