Did you know that Nutmeg is a hallucinogen?  The spice contains myristicin , a natural compound that has mind-altering effects if ingested in large doses.

I love fresh nutmeg you buy in sticks and then grate onto the dish you are making. I haven't used any in years since I no longer make a big Thanksgiving meal.
