Photos of my roof deck
Over the weekend, Joannie and I had a conversation which started with her wondering why I had sink on my roof. It does seem odd, but I live in a city and real estate is precious so everything is vertical. I have a very narrow 3 story house with a small garden behind it and a deck on the roof. She asked me to share some photos, so here they are..
Here is the sink and there is also a hose for watering my plants. The door goes to a staircase that leads down to the 3rd floor.
Here is a view towards the front of the house, we can see fireworks on 4th of July near those 2 buildings (fireworks would be better without those buildings) and you can sort of see in the distance a suspension bridge which goes over the Delaware river. You can see at the moment I have plants all over, because I'm trying to separate them so squirrels don't jump in them so much. I'll move them to the edge when the plants are bigger or if we ever have guests up there.
This table was left by the previous owners but we like it. This view is towards the back.
Here you can see the part of my roof that does not have a deck with the Air conditioners up there. The building behind is beautiful old synagogue with the most beautiful stained glass that they sometimes light up at night. We don't worship there, but we enjoy looking at their beautiful windows.
This is a view towards center city Philadelphia and you can see a few more plants.
and one more of the sink, this time from the other angle..
Thanks for looking!

That's simply gorgeous! I can just imagine amazing dinners, gatherings with friends, and sipping wine while looking at the skyline!
OCD is not an adjective. It is not a personality quirk. It is not synonymous with being organized. It is a complex and debilitating mental health illness that affects people of all ages and walks of life, and is defined by the presence of unwanted, intrusive thoughts and repetitive actions. I am an OCD warrior and I fight for my son.
Re: Photos of my roof deck
Wow! Your rooftop is amazing and what great views of the city! Love the sink too.
Re: Photos of my roof deck
Yes, but imagine a really steep staircase to get up there with no banister and some of my friends are no young, so more often we sip wine in the first floor garden which is much safer. We do enjoy dinner up there but usually it's takeout because takeout comes in a shopping bag which is easier to carry up there. And I keep some plastic plates and plastic wineglasses under that sink.

That's so nice, Louise! You've got an incredible view!!! I love the idea that you can just go hang out with that view anytime!
(The city gal in me once wanted to live in a high-rise, or at least as high as they can be here! Lol! I'm gonna live vicariously through you!)
AND the sink?! MUST come in handy for watering plants, and, say if you're eating outside and want to wash your hands! Too nice!

As a wine drinker, I totally get this! More wine and less steps!

A few weeks ago we went to Fair Oaks Farm Indiana, equally different for me but also very pretty.

Re: Photos of my roof deck
Exactly what I was thinking! Granted, I don't live in the country but I am outside the city. I tend to forget about the city life as I sit here in my bubble with a yard. The views are gorgeous up on that deck and I can imagine how stunning the light show is from the stained glass (I'm a sucker for stained glass!) Tfs
