Indiana is in it's path. We are just west of Indy so we are on the edge of the total "blackout". Thousands of people are coming from all over the U.S. to see it. All schools and some businesses have closed today. They say roads will be very busy all day. Our trash company was suppose to start their routes in the wee hours this morning so they would not hold up traffic. (of course ours hasn't been picked up yet) lol! We bought glasses and a lens for my phone camera. We are ready!!!
Are you in it's path? You have any special plans?

My brother in law is in the direct path in NW PA. They live in a small town on the Allegheny River with a population of about 600. There are several bed and breakfasts because it is a huge hunting and fishing area. However, it is packed to capacity with those seeking to see the full solar eclipse today. He said there is not a spare room around for hundreds of miles.
We are not in it's path but should be affected by it. My plan is to stay inside and wait until it passes. I can't afford any vision damage and will look for after photos from everyone.

Nothing much here. My ex-husband and wife are staying outside of Niagara Falls and she posts on FB every single day, I’m sure I’ll read about and see photos.
We are not in its path. We shall see if it clears much today to affect us. DH still bought the grandkids glasses.

We are 100% dead center in the path of totality! Our area has been bonkers with this stuff since LAST SUMMER! That's when they began selling hotel packages, viewing parties, eclipse camp-outs, etc. You name it, they were pushing it. School is cancelled, trash pick up is cancelled, most city and county offices are closing at noon. We got glasses from our eye doctor. My dd is heavy into astronomy and the like, so she has been excited about this for a while. Same with Mike. My son couldn't care any less. His exact words were "I've been out in the dark before." As for me, I've been reading online about how to get the best pic with my camera (Canon Rebel T5) and the more I read, the more confused I get!! So, I'll just snap lots of pics and hope at least one of them looks decent.
OCD is not an adjective. It is not a personality quirk. It is not synonymous with being organized. It is a complex and debilitating mental health illness that affects people of all ages and walks of life, and is defined by the presence of unwanted, intrusive thoughts and repetitive actions. I am an OCD warrior and I fight for my son.
We won't get totality, just 89.3%, the skies are clear and the weather is quite beautiful. The schools secured glasses for all students and they will have activities centered around the eclipse today. I am working, but I am sure we will be collectively distracted.
I work a part time retail gig in the evenings, people have been "preparing"...
Funny how some are looking for glasses, Eclipse Gum and Moon Pies and others are looking for batteries and bottled water. It has been interesting.
My 8 year old is excited. She loves space, planets and the moon. I hope she has fun.

We are in the path here of 89.5% coverage. I honestly haven't given it that much thought I didn't really realize we were going to be that close to 100%. No glasses or anything but I will watch from my windows to see it get darker out. Right now the sun is out but I think it is supposed to be cloudy at the time of the eclipse.
Where I'm located in Maine, there will be a deep partial percentage, with magnitude 97.4% visibility. I did not buy glasses. The sky is clear so it should be good visibility. It's supposed to be fairly warm today too, so I'll probably just sit outside and watch it get dark. I won't be looking up though without glasses. I'll be relying on pictures from everyone else.
We are about 90%. I didn’t really think about or make plans to get glasses until yesterday when the glasses were already sold out. My plans is go on the roof and try to take photos with my phone without looking at it. See how that goes.

We aren't in the path of totality, but will get about 90%. Grayson was supposed to have an orthodontist appointment today but they called and said his new Invisalign trays hadn't came in yet even though they shipped 2 weeks ago. So... we will hang around the house until time to go to the soccer game this evening. Most schools here have closed for the day (or are having early dismissal) and have said sports cannot start until 5:30pm.
I bought glasses for all of us so we will go out and see if we can see anything - it's mostly cloudy here so I'm not expecting much...

We will only be at 46%. I bought glasses for me and my family but not my classroom kiddos. If something was to go wrong with that, I don't want to be responsible since they are only five and Miami is the "sue me" city, lol. It will be at 46% after they leave my class anyway. That is about all I am doing...teaching it today though and had the kiddos make special hats and art.

Alot of people talking about it and we are apparently somewhat in the path 86%. No schools are closed here, but if you want your child to stay home it's excused. Supposed to be about 3pm here and grandson Brady has Track practice then. They are providing the eclipse glasses for everyone. Thought that was so thoughtful of them. We haven't been able to find any of the glasses.
I'm relying on other's photos too- my cousin should have pictures!
I'm not sure what I'll be able to see or not see. I mean, I'm kinda excited, but did not even try to get glasses or anything this time. (Idk what happened to the ones from the last eclipse, but I was seeing someone different then and I had to work that day anyway!)
The whole lining-up-of-the-planets thing is VERY cool!

I'm south of Pittsburgh and in 97% of totality but only got 4 hrs sleep last night and have to go to sleep now unfortunately for a few hours cause I work night shift tonight. So I be in bed snoozing through the whole thing but will watch TV later to see how it went.

We will have totality for about 30 seconds here in central OH. I have the day off of school and a colleague and I had brunch and hot tubbing to celebrate. It is a gorgeous 65 degrees with sun, so we should be able to see it. Planning on enjoying it from our hot tub on the back deck with a nice beverage and the glasses my school provided from the county health department. Can't really understand the people who are traveling to see it for less than 2 minutes around here....it's crazy!

We aren’t going to get anything. But the weather up here is so nasty we wouldn’t see it anyway. It was actually snowy this morning!!! Big fat flakes for a few minutes. Thankfully it didn’t last.
Nothing happening here today. Just being lazy like the dog. Lol!
Enjoy and be safe everyone!!!

We got to watch it out on our deck. Our thoughtful neighbor brought over some extra eclipse glasses he had. Pretty Cool!
I enjoyed it!! The sky got eerie!!! My phone did not take good photos. But I have friends that took good ones and a photographer friend of my sons got some great ones!

Totally disappointed here. I thought that being basically in the 90% zone it would have gotten darker than it did. But it never got that dark, just a little and the shadows were long and eerie. And that was it.
