There is only one thing I will go flying out the door for during a crop and my husband knows it!!!! A cow/bull hurt or like today the most joyous of occasions. To watch the blessing of life begin!!!
Lazy G Dana delivered an approximately 50lb bouncing baby girl (that's a huge calf for a lowline angus) who in honor of her mother deciding to have her during the Pink Paislee chat will be named Paislee! I never name a calf when they are born, so she has a first to her being named so young. She's now just over an hour old but these are right after birth. Welcome little one!
Needed to make sure baby is breathing due to very hard delivery. Dana couldn't get up right away. Then I checked on what we had and to see if she was really red. I suspected she was because a black calf never has white hooves at birth.
20 minutes later Dana is up, and Paislee is working on getting up. time to leave and let Mom and baby alone.
This little gal is special!!! Our very first red fullblood calf! And then it was only a 25% chance she would be red!
This is amazing! Welcome Paislee! There are so many firsts that have happened today. I bet I'll never get to experience another birth during a crop!
Thanks for sharing!
