Way back in January my daughter wrote a poem. I thought it was really cute so I told her she should enter it in a contest....well I guess she did! I got a letter in the mail this morning informing us that her poem was not only chosen to be in the top 10, but it was also going to be published. She is also in the running for a $3000.00 scholarship prize. This is a credited contest that is also run through the school systems not one of those ones that require a purchase of the book in order to win anything. I am so proud of her!
Here is her poem....
When I close my eyes
When I close my eyes, I do not see something blank,
when I close my eyes, I see a fish tank.
When I close my eyes, I come to a surprise,
a little tiny spider eating little tiny french fries!
When I close my eyes, I think of something good,
when I close my eyes, I see Red Riding Hood.
When I close my eyes, I will start to count sheep,
when I close my eyes, I quickly fall asleep.
